Man, my 07 update bars must be a fluke. They heat great and have the feel of my old ZR bars.

handwarmers
Well, I have just ridden over 3800 KMS since I installed 06 bars on my 07 APEX. Have varied from 1/2 to 2 bars in very cold conditions (Gaspe Loop).
No CPU problems of any sort or any other problems. Just thought I would post this since we are all a little concerned about this. So far so good.

Where are main harness connectors
How deep into the engine compartment do I have to go to find the main harness connectors. I found the grip connectors and intermediate harness connections but didn't see the main harness/intermediate harness connections.
Thx.

I was a little concerned about the CPU especially being in no mans land up in high mountains, but for some reason, I feel that logic sometimes prevails. I never even HAD to put it above the 1/2 way mark. MOst of the days were at -15 and colder and 2 bars was more then plenty warm. I even found myself turning them OFF sometimes. I just think that after that many miles..... the CPU or some other form of problem would have come up.

I agree...we had some milder days recently and I found myself cutting them OFF here and there....but typically I run em at half when we come out of restaurant, then after about 2 miles down to 2 bars..then 1 bar once gloves get nice and hot...usually at 1 bar 99% time...love it.
and I agree..I also beleive it was gonna fail it would have by now...ill be close to 1000 new miles by weeks end.

5* F. Hands were toasty with my '06 bars on my '07 GT. 340 miles since friday at or around SB Elliot. I was running them at 1/2 power most of the time. At 1/2 they were as hot as my RX1 on high. Saturday, my hands were super cold with the stock setup. Way to go Dan. Thanks.

After finally getting my 07 replacement bars and spending the time to install them....and realize my handwarmers still stink...I find this thread. Being short on time before I head out for a weekend of riding I dropped it off at my dealer to have them throw the 06 bars back on. Anyway, they did it and fault code 81(Gripwarmer short circuit comes up). Seeing this they just hooked them up normal without the harness and it went away. Did they do something wrong or is this code something you are all just dealing with?

I think 81 is when the grip leads are hooked backwards to the harness?

They did not do the hook-up properly. If code went away, its fine .
