I totally agree that the standard shocks provide a very good ride, but I also know that it is possible to improve on them. I also have a cabin in snowmobile country, and I prefer to be back by 3:00 with 150+ miles under my track, but I can't always get my buddies up that early. The best days are when we have 50-75 miles on our way to breakfast! I got the upgraded shocks because I have had some long days, or days when the groomer was broken down. Rough trails and other varying conditions are a fact of life, and at my age, I prefer to keep the beatings to a minimum.
The beatings will continue until morale improves!

Okay. The stocker is garbage IMO unless you weigh under 190I'm running a 160lb single rate spring.

I ordered a 20 SE and traded in my 16 viper 137 Le which had qs3's. I had that sled working the way I wanted with dual rate hygear spring in the front skid and DSC valves on the shocks. I took all that off when I traded it in along with the RR shafts. I'll order the AC qs3's from 19 thundercat and set them up the same. Seem to be the cheapest place to buy them in ontario.

My Dad has the Raptor triple rate based on your recommendation. It provides a very plush ride. My single rate isn't as smooth, but it seems to help keep weight off the skis. My sled has very light steering with this spring.

My 17 LTX-LE’s qs3R shocks, are probably the best stock equipment shocks that Yamaha has ever put on any of it’s sleds that I have bought or tried. That great ride and stability is also attributed to the yamacat suspension for sure though!
Money for different shocks would not make my list of things to improve, on this model, but if I had to, it may be nice to have a like shock with a couple more settings based around that middle setting! So same shock with 2 more settings, Maybe.
3 seasons without any shock maintenance and they are still doing it for me. I am around 210 lbs.

That’s great. I run same spring as your Dad. Glad it worked for him. I really like that Raptor triple rate.My Dad has the Raptor triple rate based on your recommendation. So many different variables and nobody is comparing apples to apples. Very frustrating. Center spring types/shock types/ will depend on weight/ valving/ track length/ setup/ riding style. Again so many variables to help improve a situation. I've spent more time fixing SE 1.5 fox shocks vs kashima qs3r's but even those need help.

Definitely frustrating trying to see which shocks from
Arctic Cat fit the Winder. There are too many models, and trying to get accurate details on them is difficult at best. I have an LTX DX 137,that I would like to upgrade the shocks and looking for which shocks from Cat will fit the bill. Looking for the qs3r's for the front and rear skid. Anyone have any idea which part numbers are the right ones?

'17-'19 7000s or 9000s will have same springs and valving. Stay away from their 2s as they would have lighter springs due to less weight.Definitely frustrating trying to see which shocks from

Tcat will have Qs3 only(fronts and rear) While RR will have qs3r in fronts and rear and center(qs3)

Now do these come with no springs? Because the numbers all differ in the Canadian catalog and springs are shown with the shocks.
