Poor SOUPY is getting more miles out of a gallon of gas than his belts, and we're making fat girl jokes.
So the next time my buddy complains about getting the bra off a Heffer, i'll say "it's easier than taking a belt off a Sidewinder".

What belt adjuster did you buy,and whay would you not want to reinstall it,its got to be more than a hand full with some very hard secondary springs preload,to do by hand. With all the clutch problems I've been having, I removed the belt adjuster/installer and have been installing the belt by hand so I believe thats what is causing it, I'll take it as normal. Thanks everyone.

OSP. It loosened on me once and I didn't realize it, unscrewed, raised the belt and ruined the belt. Just something else for me to rule out for blowing belts. What belt adjuster did you buy,and whay would you not want to reinstall it,its got to be more than a hand full with some very hard secondary springs preload,to do by hand.

Which washer?View attachment 135846 View attachment 135846 Yippee, I finally figured it out! Thanks Mr. Sled! As I stated previously, my belt looks the same. So much easier to put belt on with belt ADJUSTER! Now another question, I have the osp adjuster, are they recommending taking out the washer?

There is a washer between plastic piece and outer half.

Yes, remove it. It bounces around and chews up the threads. But use it to change the belt so the bolt does not damage that plastic spacer.View attachment 135846 View attachment 135846 Yippee, I finally figured it out! Thanks Mr. Sled! Agree with Joe....
Now with the monster orange sec spring, Its a real bugger to install the belt not using a belt tool. I typically dont ever use the tool on any yamaha.
Well, my OSP belt adjuster would not take the pressure of the orange.. Darn threads stripped out quickly when I tried the bolt to open clutch as designed.
So I have been installing belts by just cranking in the dial adjuster to open clutch. Anyone with stock setup should be able to remove bolt and stock plug, and setup some spacers to open the clutch with stock bolt/spacers ect...
So not a big fan of OSP adjuster now, and I think they are gone so Im out of luck with a replacement. I think Travis if I recall had a nice new design adjuster. I just wish this had happened a few days sooner as I had Travis send me out a Japan throttle, and I would have gotten him to send me a adjuster too. grrrrrr.
