What Did You Do To Your Sled Today???

These two came over to do a thorough inspection

Today - nothing. Yesterday - rode it

I installed seat heaters and digital voltage gauges in both Phazers. I wish I would've taken more pics along the way.

I found a decent sized, water resistant rocker switch for the heaters that's easy to operate with gloves on. So far they seem to work great. High gets a bit too toasty after a bit but I'm not complaining.

So I have not done much to this sled but it now has big exhaust leak. I did the block off the exhaust with rags and it kept right on running so my guess is the Donuts.
I bought the sled used so I had no idea the guy had already changed them . It had like 2000 miles on it and looked brand new .
So I get two of the three clamps off and the copper donuts look good . So now I need to pull the whole exhaust.

Can I hookup a temp gas tank so I can start it and make sure the flex pipes are good ??
One last problem how to get the third bolt out of the clamps . It’s stripped out . Best to cut the clamp right off or try an easy out ? Happy New Year !

I have turned the tank and used so I could check the flex pipes and you can drill out the hangers and re rivet them.

repacked all the bearings on the 11 and discovered that i have to pull fuel tank again as i missed by 1 spline when i replaced the steering blocks. still need to put new scratchers on it as i destroyed one trying to get the tip out to replace it.

Had my friends '06 Doo in the garage. I pulled the motor out, and tore it to molecules. It needed its crankshaft bearings re-greased at 6000kms. I thought about all the gaskets and bearings and expensive tubes of grease I needed to order. The pistons were bad after a swap 1300kms ago. I got tired so I left. On the way out I glimpsed upon a blue figure in the corner of my eye. There stood a brand new Sidewinder twice as strong, as stunning and ready as ever.
You all know I had to look twice.

So got two of the clamps off . On my other sled the Donuts were completely gone or disintegrated when I took the clamps off . Here I believe these are copper but is that gap normal??

Thanks for the reply . Now I guess I need to pull the exhaust off the back and take a look

finished everything but the scratchers on the 11 and threw it outside. 2016 will be started on when i get home from work at midnight. starting with oil change, checking carbides and swapping scratchers as i put them on wrong side last year when i installed them.

Since our snow is now gone, I decided to polish up the ol turd, and hope the 92 miles I rode last week isn't it for the entire season.

I gave it a once over. Oilite bushings are a bit stiff so tried to pump some grease in the front. We plan on putting on lots of miles tomorrow.
