I use one of these and use Amsoil chain case oilWhat's everyone using in the chaincase? And how do you drain and fill it? Are there any writeups on the chaincase or the regular oil tank for changes? Thanks

The only problem with a fluid evacuator is the sediment that's left behind. IDK if it's a big deal or not. I've never used one.

I like to use it to pull 95% of the oil out. not a mess once you pull the cover then. The only problem with a fluid evacuator is the sediment that's left behind. IDK if it's a big deal or not. I've never used one.

I didn't see M1 0-30 in that list, how did it do?It does not test well for some reason. This test was the most thorough test of oils I had ever seen.
I have NEVER run a 0w weight oil ever, and have never had an issue starting no matter if it was 36 below.
Also, if you look closely some M1 does not do nearly as good, and even some 5w30 did not do as well. You must get the normal one, not extended mileage or any other 5w30. Just the normal one like I got cheap, I grabbed 2 jugs, sure cant beat it.

It was discussed on several sites that I searched out. And as I said, it did not do well. Most of the 0W M1 oils dont have the same quantities of Phos,Zinc,Moly among other ingredients, and this was talked about on several oil forums.I didn't see M1 0-30 in that list, how did it do?
Not sure why anyone would run 0W weight, unless you are starting sled in 30 to 40 below zero(alos leave it outside) every night. That is the only time its needed IMO. I often start mine in a UNheated garage at minus 35c and no issue with 5w weight which i've always run(with exception of the 1200). And with this climate, its rare in last many winters to get more then one or two real cold spells.
IMO I would never run M1 0w30, as it has always tested poorly compared to many others...it is for autos to get best MPG and has far less of the things in it that help with wear.
That all being said, NOONE will ever have a problem with ANY oil used, Oil is one of those subjects that should just be left off forums really...LOL, Im just OCD and love to research stuff. I just would stay clear of 40 weight as it will slow you down, I tested 0w40 yrs ago on apex, to 5w20 redline, and picked up 2mph on gun. Never ran anything thick after that.
Mobile has rebates right now. Found them at Fleet Farm. Bought the oil at Walmart and got $12 rebate online. Got check yesterday.

Wow that is cheap! Man o man oil is so cheap now for M1....It really makes the 2s vs 4s argument a real bargain on cost of ownership. Even though the 2s is very good on oil consumption these days, still cant beat this kinda price on oil that is NOT burned, and only needed likely once per season. Wow cheap.

I checked and Walmart isn't listed under participating retail dealers for this rebate.

I bought 4 five quart jugs of Pennzoil Ultra 5-30 off of Amazon for $14.97 per jug with Rebates this week. Pennzoil also has rebates on till the end of December. I think either oil is good. M1 or Pennzoil Ultra, makes no difference really, both good oils.
Paste this below into Amazon and it will come up. Don't forget to print the rebate form.
Pennzoil 550045201 Ultra Platinum 5 quart 5W-30 Full Synthetic Motor Oil (SN/GF-5 Jug)
