2006 Attak
I have a 2006 Attak with 28000 km. Recently had the chain case done with new chain and bearings but used old gears. The primary was also done and jack shaft bearing. I’m hearing it when I accelerate and it seems to be coming from the throttle side. Has anyone ever experienced this whine or do you have any suggestions of what it could be ? Thanks.

Sounds like the chain is too tight.

Finger tight, then back off/loosen 1/4 turn.

Who did the work? Make sure the oil is of the proper weight and filled to the proper level too.

x2 on chaincase tension too tight.

I think I would be correct, when installing new chain you should also replace gears to make a perfect match, especially with those miles.

;)!
Yes new gears with new chain always! Will wear out the new chain faster! Just like motorcycles, cars etc.

the only time I have heard a whining noise from the chain case is with the chain too tight. it can sheer the axle so readjust it asap.
