I have a 2014 xf7000 with the 2016 team clutches. I’m changing the upper tooth to 24t. Anyone else try this on the 7000? What weights do you have in the team clutch mine are 64 oz and will only spin to around 8400 the slowly climb to 8600. Want to get it up to 9000-9100. Everything else is stock.

I tried to put a 22T upper in a few days ago. I have a 2015 Arctic Cat XF7000. The chain isn’t long enough for a 22T, so you could go with a 24T but you would definitely need to get a longer chain.

Cannondale27 (Steve) has 25/45 gearing in his sled, I think, and his sled does fine. I’d leave the 64g in and run it. If the gearing doesn’t help, then take away weight. I have DD big dog weights and they’re too light. I hit the rev limiter more than I’d like. I’ll look and see what weight tomorrow. How do you like your team clutches compared to your 14’ Cat clutches?

When I bought my sled it already had team clutches on it so I can’t compare. Cannondale recommended to put 62oz weights in it but haven’t done it. I’d like to find a stock set of 62oz weights like he recommended but not sure sled with team clutches ran that weight.

Well I finally put the 24t in and rode it. Seems like I didn’t loose any low end and accelerated awesome. I let off at 82 and was still pulling hard. Can’t wait to get some miles on it. I just rode around a small park to make sure everything was good.

Was the RPM higher with that combo ?

It lowers the rpm at cruising speeds. So let’s say 4000 rpms now maybe 50 mph where before 4000 would be 40 mph with stock gear. Basically gives you more top end and lower rpms at cruising speeds. Also the number I gave were for example not factual.

Gotcha, that’s what I would have thought was a bit confused by the earlier post my bad. Dropping rpm while cruising sounds good to me if it improves MPG. Be nice to get the range per tank closer to my old VECTOR less worry about running out

OP Said 8400 RPM, looking for 9k rpm. I would thing gearing up the top tooth would drop RPM further not raise it ? Not just while cruising but at WOT as well ?
Thanx for explaining

Once I get out on the lake I can see if it dropped it farther down in rpms which I have a hunch it will. Next step will be lighter weights I have 64oz in it now probably drop down to 62.

2 grams of change won't be enough. You'll likely need 58 or 60 gram weights instead of the 64 gram ones you have.
