Guess I took a bit too long, lolSecondary clutch has holes in the helix and inner sheave that are numbered for the spring tangs, controls torsional twist.

Dumb question, what is the harm in running the XS belt and not getting to the peak rpm’s ?
I know ideally we want to be in that sweet spot of the rpm for efficiency, I’m heading to Quebec tomorrow and itching to try the XS belt to reduce the dust buildup lol..
Will running the sled for 800-900 km with the XS belt on stock clutching and only reaching 8300-8400 rpm cause any problems?

It won’t cause any problems, just won’t
be pushing max power/speed.
But If you’re tuned it could cause the engine to knock due to laboring it, if you’re holding it to the bar.

IMO, as WW says, for most any tune, if you labor the engine below where most run (8800-9000) you are more apt to see knock light. Aka, running 8300-8400 WOT on a tune that needs 8900. Cylinder pressure builds and can introduce deto. So, beware and if you experience knock light, need to take some weight out of primary or something to get RPM back.

I been running the XS825 belt for a couple years now. Running 250 hp mostly. I like it and have less probelms than the stock belt. U do have to mess with the weights in primary. If it breaks the cords are really strong and wrap around everything. They do have a one year warranty and stand behind it.

I think when i tested this belt last year, my RPM's were around 8700 without adjustments.
I think you'll be OK as long as you don't mind less top end. It may not be a lot anyways.
As a matter of fact, put it on then report back to us.
Then we can put you in the TY JEDI archives!

Hello,
I’m completely stock and have around 1000 miles on the XS, and I’ve seen 8750 in a short WOT burst and ALOT less belt dust too!
Where I ride I haven’t been able to hold it open for a long period, but seems to me it might eventually creep up to 8800.
XS brand new though was lower, but as others have also mentioned, it seems to eventually settle in ok.
Pretty sure I’m gonna leave clutch alone at this point.

Same here. Bone stock XTX and rpms anywhere from 8750 to 8900 depending on outside temperatures.Hello,

Most of my dust is from the brake and brown clutch bushing dust.

You can ride your buddies Winder Steve. Best part is, you don't have to give it back until you slow down and wait for him to catch you!

3 days of perfect Quebec riding, sled completely stock, XS belt 945km and sled maxes out at 8500 rpm.I think when i tested this belt last year, my RPM's were around 8700 without adjustments.
