YAMAHEATER Nice Warm Hands for 03 - Current Yamaha 4 Strokes

Hey Rock , have 4 of your units all work awesome , I have a 2010 xtx on the way , will I need your heat ?? Will it plug and play ? I also want to order sled starter for it ! I have one on the way for the sc apex ! Glen

Hey Dude!

On the 2010, the YAMAHEATER will work, would wait & see how the existing warmers are first though.
The YAMAHEATER WILL make them warmer and be Plug & Play, but may not be required.
The new grips should be more efficient.

See SLEDSTART here:

Glad you like your existing units! ;)!

I haven't rode my 07 Attak in cold weather yet, but did this come with the hand warmer update from the factory that came out in 2006? Or would i still benefit from this device?

The '07 was supposedly improved by Yamaha over the '06 but everyone that I have talked to is still not happy with the '07 through '09 performance.

You will want this for your '07!

Hey Glen,

Just to confirm...the SledStart will plug and play for your 2010 xtx. Your Apex kit did ship and if you don't have it yet you should see it any time now.
Thanks again. As far as the 2010 warmers, I heard they are improved but I also heard there still not like to old days like on the SRX or the Vipers etc...
\My guess is your gonna want the Yamaheater on it.
Happy Trails!

How does the handwarmers and remote start effect a sled that is going to run a PCIII and ignition module?

The equipment won't have any effect on the YAMAHEATER at all.
You will still have Warm Hands!

I know of no reason why it would effect the Sledstart either. Would suggest just double-checking with SNOWDOG.
The SLEDSTART starts the sled, it doesn't effect the fuel mixture etc at all, the ECU takes care of that.

Hope this helps! ;)!

Rock, how difficult is it to install on an '09 Vector GT? Wife's sled, always complaining about cold hands. Will I need the quick install harness or does the '09 allow me to plug directly in? Somewhat limited mechanically, but I can handle moderate complexity with instructions.

Also, do you have the unit in stock, and what's current price, shipped to WI?

Thanks.

Hi Fusion!

Yes we have them in stock, usually ships same day or at least with-in 24 hours.

If you get the Plug & Play Warmer Control, it takes 15 min or so to install once the panels are off your sled.
Mounting the LED takes the most time and it is EASY! lol
The kit is truly easy & fast!

You must get the Plug & Play kit to simply plug it in.
You do NOT have to cut ANY wire to install with Plug & Play. ;)!

The kit is 175 + $10 shipping.
(If you are a VIP member here or join as a VIP, you also get a $10 discount.)

There is more info on ordering here:

(Info for everyone: The first page of this thread has an Index showing how to get one.)

You realize, your wife will owe ya! lol :drink:
Have shipped many to help make happy wives. LaLaLa

If you get it in right away, will get it shipped to you today yet.

Thanks for the quick response. I just spent the last 45 minutes reading the installation instructions without plug and play. I'm fairly certain I could do it, but I'm thinking plug and play is the way to go for a guy like me. With the plug and play I strip no wires and plug it in to existing connections on the ECU? If that is the case, I'm thinking I want one. I already talked to the wife and she wants it, so you know how that goes! Do you recommend mounting the LED and control switch in the same area as the Nytro shown in the illustration? I don't have the Vector here, so I'm trying to picture where you drill the holes to install them. I have my APEX here, but not sure it's the same as '09 Vector exactly. Do you have an updated illustration with the plug and play?

One last thing, you are sure when this warm controller is activated there is no potential loss of performance or any other function due to power diversion to the controller vs. other sled systems? Just want to be sure, maybe you already answered this in previous posts, but it's been a long day, and I'm heading out to work on APEX studding.

Thanks;

Fusion

Rock, did you ever have any issuess with the check engine light coming on?

Hey Fusion!

Noone has seen any ill effects by any means other than saving their fingers! lol
(You know how it is, this is VERY public & if there were any serious problems people will say something. Probably loudly. lol)

Yes the Plug & Play simply plugs into the existing factory connectors behind the headlight.
You do not have to connect anything at the ECU itself, it is all at the base of the bars.
(I sell almost no basic units that aren't Plug&Play anymore, mostly just for the RX/RS sleds, because they basically are Plug & Play with the basic kit.)

You simply unplug 3 connectors, plug in your YAMAHEATER, connect power and it is functional.
Mount the LED & Switch & you have Warm Hands at your fingertips, even controlled by your existing controls!

The coolest mounting location for the LED I have seen is right by the Blue Warmer switch on the bars.
Where exactly you mount it is up to you.
You don't have to see it directly as the power mode it is in is indicated by the color of the LED.
You can see the color in your periphial vision without having to look directly at it.
(You can keep your eyes on the trail.)

Steve05RX1 mounted his so it lit up where his helmet plugged in. Pretty cool also. ;)!

Hope this Helps!

No, only error that has ever came up was a 81.
It is a warmers disconnected error. (Minor error)
(Even IF a code 81 could possibly come up, the YAMAHEATER will still work giving you warm hands. Thought through any possible failure modes pretty deeply.)

A low idle can possibly cause it also.
Changed the circuits a bit & that took care of it.

"Remove cowling cover at bottom and in front of bars. "

Rock;

Still studying and reading to be sure I know how to do this before ordering. (I'm the carefull type) On the '09 Vector, do I need to remove the four panels described in the APEX/ATTACK install, or just the three on the hood? I'm concerned about the statement at the top, and if I need to remove that one, since I haven't had that one off before.

Is there somewhere (what page) in this thread or other I can read the install instructions with plug and play for the '09 Vector?

Thanks
