    Garmin 176C Vs. 276C

I've had both, but only used the 276C on my sled. A bud bought my 176C and uses it on his SRX. If you've got the cash the 276C is a better unit. The screen is better. The built in Li battery in the 276C can run the dang thing all day if you take care. Backlight off during the day, on low at...

    New vector to much oil

Curious, where do you pour it? The manual says it takes ~3qts. But then it says only to pour 2Qts into the tank before starting it. When/where does the third quart go?

THANKS to Bruce at Pioneer Performance!

Try firming it up! Seriously. I'm 225+gear. On my Rage with the suspension set to medium and the preload at stock the ride felt like you described. I set the FRA to "hard" and the ride is smooth as can be. I know the Vector has no FRA adjuster, but just and example. All the guides I've seen...

    New vector to much oil

I thought it was more to pump it around the engine....now having said that it would settle in the bottom of the crankcase...hmm... All I know is if I check it cold it's too high, and if I run it a bit it's OK.

    New vector to much oil

I think it reads high unless you check it after the motor has warmed up a bit.

Please give me a lesson on stock rear suspension terms.

FRA is the gizmo that allows the shock mounting point (rear) to move up/down a bit. It changes the shock to be stiffer or softer. Main spring preload, look at the collar on the same shock that has the FRA. It's the one laying flat in the center of the skid..now look at the rear end of the...

Stock Rage skis vs. Vector skis

So is the deeper keel better for handling?

Stock Rage skis vs. Vector skis

Looking at my RS Rage on the trailer comparing it to other sleds, I notice that the keel of my ski is much taller that most. Also when I look at the marks made in the snow my Rage only sits on the keel, where the others you see the footprint of the whole ski. Then I looked into the specs, the...

THANKS to Bruce at Pioneer Performance!

THis is a very sore (back) suject for me!!! I've got back trouble, and rode the vector and rage back to back. I found the rage a lot smoother. So I went with it. It doesn't handle as well, but I'm trying to tweak that out. I can tell you that after the demo, when I first got my rage, is...

Did you shim the skis? And what carbides did you have last year?

THANKS to Bruce at Pioneer Performance!

"but based on what you're saying, I guess I don't pay attention to such details!" Not my intent. I was more thinking of friends who rode/drove vehicles with really worn out shocks. Who never noticed.

THANKS to Bruce at Pioneer Performance!

So even with the M10 you're buying new shocks with the skid and rebuilding them now and then. I guess my thought is that shocks are to some extent wear items. Espically for people who pay attention to such details. Even Ohlins need to be rebuilt now and then.

06 Rage rear exchanger and studs

Is there any stock protector? My 05 had protectors, but they needed to be cut to install the exchanger. I've seen some lay strips of used hyfax over the top of the exchanger to protect it a bit. Have you searched on this forum at all?

    TORS Issue After CDI update

True dat! As anyone who's had the TORS kick in while riding can tell you, the motor doesn't die, it just makes little or no torque. It's more like a 3000RPM rev-limiter. :)

Can't get the magic "50/50" balance on the transfe

Sounds good. I've been somewhat paranoid about tightening the straps as I've heard some stories about them making the sled heavy and ride horrid. That and they would be a PITA to adjust trailside. ;) I dropped the nuts to min transfer. I tightened the straps 3mm more, and let off the VERY...
