Let me start this thread by saying this site is an absolute godsend for a newbb.
I bought a used '07 phazer fx and called dealerships to confirm all recalls/service bulletins were done. Although it checked out ok, I now realize the updated link kit was not installed (maybe they swapped out the skid????). Anyhow, I'm stuck with it and want to replace the parts, but the kit is no longer available. Is anyone so kind to post the part numbers of what is needed to replace the faulty link setup? I'll try to get the stuff used (if possible) or off of partzilla etc.. I don't want to mess up ordering the right parts, so part numbers for this is a huge bonus for me. Thanks.

I've been riding the original link in my 07 GT with 8000kms and no issues. I do check it every everytime I grease the skid for cracks.
I would just ride it the way it is and just check it regularly.

Ya, I'm debating on whether to bother since its so expensive, just don't want to get broke down somewhere. Looks like the guy welded the crap out of it...

I think the issue was setting the torsion spring block to hard and taking jumps.
This thread has some part numbers: http://www.ty4stroke.com/threads/the-link-doesnt-fit-07-standard.48935/page-2
This may be another option: http://www.schmidtbrosmotorsports.com/weak-link-rear-suspension-fix-2007-phazer/
If or when mine breaks I will go with Schmidt Bros Full Kit. I think it will be best bang for the buck.

Ok, the torsion springs were set to hard when I bought it, but I set them to medium maybe that will help prevent it from breaking. Seems like the rear sag increased a bit though on medium ( I'm thinking about the torsion spring spacers for that).
Thanks for the info, you might be right about the Schmidt bro's kit instead of trying to piece everything together. I just hope I can make it home if/when it breaks.

There is an updated shaft which is what bends when this links breaks (or is it the other way around?). It's a good idea to replace it if it is original.

Looking further at the torque arm(W arm?), is this the updated arm or did the previous owner weld/beef them up??? I can't tell cause the inside corners kinda look like the updated arm... The link is definately the old piece but has been reenforced. Can anyone tell for sure?

Looks like to me it's been gusseted by PO.
Good weld too. Yami's are a little thicker and cooler of a bead.

Thanks to all for the good info. I think I'll take moose's advice and get the Shaft-5 (mine looks like it could be bent). I managed to find the updated aluminum bracket/link new for $45 so I figured that was a good deal and got it. Will look for more good deals over the next year or so on the rest of the updated pieces, will continue to use current setup until then.

Just be sure to read through the threads I posted because, I do believe, the link by itself will not fit. Other parts go with it.

Gotcha. One last question... I'm pretty sure that I will have to pull the skid to install the Shaft-5 piece, but is there any way to replace the shaft without taking out the skid? This is probably a long shot, but I thought I would ask. thanks.

I think you do because of the spring tension but I may be wrong. I did both of mine when it was out. Wouldn't be a bad idea to take it out and do a full inspection.
