1,000ft

And that sure helped!
Thanks!!

With a stock waste gate, and one of the "store-bought" tunes, remember the ecu is controlling boost (by controlling waste gate and using the tune boost level that it's programmed with). No matter how "good" or big your turbo is, your boost is same. HP improvements come from improvement in charge density, i.e. denser cooler incoming air, and the combined weight of these wheels is 12.5 grams (approx 7%) lighter than stock ones so the turbo spools quicker. When I ran my sled on the same track dyno before and after the turbo mod, to run the same AFR, I had to increase my fuel pressure about 5 lbs.(even at higher ambient air temp). That told me that the incoming air density was higher.
If you have a tune with no ecu boost limit (race map), then the mod stock turbo does produce more boost and therefore more HP.

Last winter I was hitting the set boost cut off point at part throttle with cool intake temps.
Having the secondary intercooler with a fan and shroud on it. Boost sensor is before throttle plates. Would like to have that boost limit raised at part throttle in the computer.
Always pushing the limit of the tunes.

Wastegate controller and fine tuning option in the app Tim

Did a little tuning today. I had to start two barrels back and when I hit the second barrel I went wot....those were the best conditions, couldn't get traction from the dig!
Had to put two more grams of weight in clutch, play with fuel pressure, Yada, Yada
Turbo Dynamics MS17
15.3mpg
76.2g @ 8900
Afr 11.6
Boost 17.6psi and held it.
I'm running/tuning in 36°. So everything should be alot closer at 10°. rpms go up, afr will settle in.
But I have to say....she's pretty stout.

Sure is a nice looking sled...hard to beat yammmy blue and white, also like the control arms level with the world, keep digg'n old friend.

That you for the kind words and wisdom, in initiating the work done on my turbo!
BTW...still have a couple things I'm working on. Lol. But this wasn't the trip for that.
Need to get a baseline on things moving forward.
Thank you, fords4life
