137 sw procross center shock spring change

Night and day difference in steering, ride and handling over stock spring. Bought a left over 19 and had a chance to put 100 m8les on it before the snow left , first thing I noticed was the shitty stock centre spring. My 17 with the 229 did everything better . Amazing how something so little can make such a huge difference. I guess if I was lighter the stock spring may be ok but at 220 dressed I'm not a real heavy weight.
What model is your 17?

Both are thundercats, both come stock with same center spring.

I don't want to go with the qs3 center shock due to the issues with the shock body wearing out from spring retainer. How are the elka shocks working for you?
I really like them! I have tried differents spring setup,single rate and dual.(150/275, 225/225, 225/250, 300/225, 152 single)
Best one for my riding type 150/275 whit the shortest crossover possible. It stay on the 97 pounds "riding rate"long enough to be extremely comfortable and the 275 rate keep good protection for bottoming.

I have the Bill mohr spring and may try that dual rate. How many turns did you go on that one? Looking for a starting point.
I have a measurement wrote down I think I'll look tomorrow

160/260# is cats rating

Thanks
The stock original spring was too soft 110 lb. and had to crank it up some which created a push entering the corners. After the skis finally bite it would turn. That all went away with the 160lb sprung I got from you. I am just looking for more out of the center shock/spring set up.
Hoping to find a set up that does it all.
If just another spring change will do it that's fine. I'll try the cat 229 spring first.

I am always willing to try different thing to improve the ride!! So in your opinion if I were to try a different center spring which one should I go with????
I have a 2019 zr 9000 limited and have no clue what center spring is in it stock...lol
Sled has qs3 front and rear and center is a standard hpg. I did over 3000km and find it perfect for aggressive trail riding even with the stock cat carbides.. front end is planted and I get minimal push. I haven't touched a spring setting or the limiter (dealer set up) this is the first sled I have ever owned that I never had to touch the suspension adjustment besides the 3 setting of qs3 (ride mostly on 2)
I weigh around 250 dressed

What spring would improve a almost perfect set up for my riding style?

You sound very happy already.

I am!!!! On my rtx viper with foxfloat 3 It took a full season of adjustment and a set of snowtrackers to get it to steer in the corners the way i liked it... my new sled is pretty darn perfect out of the crate even on the stock carbides!!! It does steer a little heavier then my viper with the snowtrackers but cornering is very predictable.

If I were to swap the spring what would be the biggest difference in the handling and control of the sled???

Lighter front end with all the positives and negative aspects that come with it.

This is going to be a case of different strokes for different folks. Some like a lot of transfer and a active riding sled. Others want to rail and smooth. Like a SRX. No right or wrong and neither is necessarily faster at least not on trails. NyTurbo which Cat spring are you using?
What spring comes stock on the front shock of the srx , i have to say this stock set up really works

I haven't checked but it's a combination of all the springs and the adjust on fly that really makes that SRX Rock.

SRX uses the same stock spring as the rest.
