2020 Release

I was told that it was a 3 cyl 2 stroke in a nytro chassis with a Jack shaft driven supercharger. It has single shot rear skid with the new front shocks that are tied together and I almost forgot it has team clutch and tuner 3 ski's

Oh Yea well I heard of something similar but instead of 3 cylinders there were three turbocharged reindeer that drink rocket fuel........ same rear skid tho so I’m on the fence.

He has no reason to lie. He would have told me straight up if he knew nothing like the last time i ran into him. Told me he only learned about it on a conference call this past week, and said he is going away to learn more the start of march.
The guy's on here are getting itchy trigger fingers bud, lol, interesting statement from that rep though, Yamaha Japan would keep tight lipped about it till about this time of year with a release in sight, they are starting to let the lower ranks at Yamaha know what is happening, this is good news for the true blue, soon a teaser video, thanks for the info.

I know all of us Yamaha faithful 4 stroke guy's don't really care much about a new Yammy 2 stroke but I feel it might be necessary for Yamaha so it can regain market share for future r&d.

I went away for a weekend & BANG!
My TY friends pushed us over the 100 page mark.
I like triple digit #'s. They make me happy.
Of course i was riding incredible trails & conditions while you people were speculating & guessing, but i'm proud of my TY brothers.

Now i know a 2-stroke isn't what some want, but it will help ALL Yammi sleds across the board.
Bigger market means more R&D which will help the chassis department that the 4-strokes get put into.

What is the most pages a thread has gotten in one year?

The only two stroke I would consider going back to is a triple...…….
Big twins are NOT very impressive in my mind.

I had a ZRT 600 great midrange pull and top end. Also smooth. I parted it out after I got beat to death on rough trails the last ride of the year. Due to the weight. And lack of suspension. Switched to a 500 twin lighter but very peaky. Today's chassis are lighter and better suspended. Yamaha could have a nitch market if they come back with a triple. I just want to see something. I am to the point of worrying about parts availability for my 2016 & 2017. Let's face it we all know there is nothing sweeter than the sound of a triple pipe 2 Stroke triple. But with today's noise restrictions might not be possible. I have a Kawasaki triple 2S street bike. The older generation would appreciate that sound. Who knows with today's technology they might be able to pull that off. Exhaust valves etc. I am sure that the Apex owners know that nothing on the snow sounds like the 4 cyl 4S. By the way in case anybody forgot the new Cat 600 & 800 have 2 windows on the intake side of their pistons. Great idea! First time I saw that was on a Yamaha Rd350. Introduced in 1973. Next time I saw this was on SLP"S RZ Motors for Polaris from the early 90"s. By the way their RZ 707 Polaris triple motor won King of the hill in Jackson Hole. Why do I care I had an RZ 550 Cat motor I tuned to 97 mph pulling a 136 Ripsaw across my lake in 8 inches of snow. I just wanted the torque not the speed it was a blast until I cold seized it last year following my wife's Vector up to Lake of the Clouds and I got tired of following because she could not stand the smell of my 2S. I decided to blow past her. And burned down the left side because I never got around to wrapping the twin pipes. I still made it to the top and made it back to White Cloud to load on the trailer. That's when I decided to buy Vector for myself. No regrets!

What it may mean is that Arctic Cat as we know it today is gone. And Yamaha snowmobiles as we know it are gone. It would explain all the Yamaha house cleaning this year and next.

Then a new line of the merged company can be released, and the AC faithful and Yamaha faithful could possibly co-exist. This is the perfect time to release a new chassis, and possibly a new powerplant that was co-designed under a new name. That way nobody can pull the "we designed it" "they designed it" card or blame card for poor design.

Yamacat, or Catmaha may be closer to reality than we want to admit.

BUT PLEASE, let's move away from the late 80's Dayglow, purple and Ditch Pickle colors!!! For F-sake!
Ya lets build the ugliest Blue Yellow sleds instead, I'll Take the Cat green any day over that. Point is different color for different folds. Like orange, thats gross!

If Yamaha did buy cat I would be happy if they kept the procross chassis for now, but refined it by building in Yamaha quality in the fasteners, engine placement, gear cases, drive train and all the cheap crap parts in general.

What I have said all alongeverything from the secondary to the Brake.

Not a big fan of 2 strokes, changed too many pistons over the years.

I had a 800 Cat triple triple and a 1000 Cat triple triple. Loved em! Loved the sound, I think though everyone forgets that the triple died because it was to heavy. The twin was born because no on wanted a triple mountain sled. It's why I went to Yamaha for the 4 cylinder, the long legs and the sound of it. The 900 twin couldn't get out of its own way, it was that or the Yamaha four stroke in 05. I chose wisely!

Four strokes are lighter?

When I was a kid they had snowmobile trails in southern Wisconsin going everywhere that opened every year for a couple months......now they haven’t opened in years.

Warmth is creeping northward as the years go by, it’s just the reality of the situation. Trails in Wausau have been struggling to open for more than a couple weeks a year. They used to have a solid three month season. It’s happening all across the northern tier of states, this is where most of the snowmobiles are sold. Sure Canada has snow, but the majority of sales come from the US market.

It’s all fun when times are good to speculate about what the future holds, not so much in the current state of affairs. I’m holding out hope and at the same time just being real. If I ran Yamaha’s snowmobile division we would be making the BADDEST A$$ SLEDS AROUND!
I would be on TY every day asking all you guys what too do, and there would be no secrets as to what was going on.
But I’m not, and bean counters are so that $ucks! Reality Bites!

BTW yamaha does make the baddest sled currently! And Trump says there’s no such thing as global warming so we got that going for us anyway!

The VK 54o? Only sled Yamaha builds. Cat builds a wicked 9,000 though
