2021 Sidewinders

that would defeat the purpose of that model
Ideally Yamaha should have 3 track selection for "flat land " sidewinders .
You decide when ordering sled ...
1) the srx track
2) updated LTX track , I found the track didn't stop as good as the 1 1/4 Apex track
3) a pre studded 1 1/4 track

I've ben saying this for years.
Give me options like DOO does.
Doesn't cost them a thing, just US when we want to change it.

good ski's, a belt changer would be nice to have on the sled and the adaptability of the Doo would be nice but Barn of Parts offer all these options at reasonable prices...I have ridden ski doo's, they are nice but nothing compared to my Sidewinder...even with the Cat chassis that really is pretty good for the most part...my 2up winder in my opinion is a much better sled than the Venture, maybe not as tough but its balanced...most importantly, the Misses much prefers the Winder , she also likes the 600 ace renegade but it doesn't handle at rising speeds, the ski's rise too much loosing steering, no such problem with the winder...just my and my better parts opinion.Oh, Yamaha has been very good on the warranty. Doo add on's are not cheap, then again nothing is inexpensive in this sport but let's face it folks...there's allot worse things to be addicted to lol.

This is all the reality of wanting to be a Yamaha sled owner/rider...they will be built in conjunction with AC. There are virtually no Japanese autos/trucks we buy in North America being built in Japan and sleds are obviously no different.
Its funny but when I bought my first Apex I kept my 2 stroke SRX as a backup sled but found I only wanted to ride my Apex and my 2002 SRX just collected dust, when I bought my 2019 Winder I also kept my Apex but it only collects dust.
I am happy Yamaha is still selling sleds regardless of where they are being built as I like being different and not being part of the faceless masses.

right on!! Joe

the new blue sidewinder look awesome...the orange doesn't really work in the looks dept. imo..Joe

oh, by the way, this mornings weather here is very cool, not cold yet but the temps are going down :brrr:

And that's why they don't do it..............more parts to sell.

Yes you are correct but the cat doesn’t look as good as this blue. I looked at one and decided to order the srx

Atta Boy! Great choice.

Thanks. Looking for a different track now. Also making a list of things to do or change.
I had an 18 sidewinder with a 1.75 back country . Loved how it pulled as it was geared for it too.

I think the SRX looks great, but a Thundercat can be had for almost $4,000 less.

Not trying to start anything but if you compare apples to apples the SRX has standard electronic adjustable shocks with the same shocks optional on the Thunder Cat.

Here's a comparison of the MSRP's between the two models comparably equipped:

The Thunder Cat comes with a 1 year warranty.

The SRX comes with a 3 year warranty.

You could spring order the Thunder Cat with the cheaper manual adjust shocks for less, but like I say comparing apples to apples along with the warranty I know which one I would chose.

Choose whichever brand trips your trigger along with dealer and factory support but the price difference is pretty minimal in a straight out comparison.

I get tunnel vision and thoughts when I look st that SRX. Ooooooooh, pretty Blue and the fastest production snowmobile ever! Or as we say it here in Maine, “The Fastest production snowmobile EVA”.

I really like the silver/orange/black model. Tempted to trade up, except it doesn't have the premium shock package.
I like the very dark blue on the orange and blue model. Would like to see them build one with mostly that very dark blue, but no white.
