about 300km so far. Track howl is annoying but I will deal with it. Very comfortable. Still need to figure out how to switch to mph vs kph. Little tippy. Need to work on front suspension to get it to settle down a little. Skis dart / wander a lot. Some quick squeezes of the throttle in sport mode, wow, low and midrange is really snappy. Nose to nose with my brothers 600 etec Renegade on the straights. Will see about a lake run after break in. Touring mode is actually easier to manage in the tight trails. Almost through break in miles - mileage is less than expected but its a new engine. Should loosen up and improve. Very pleased with rear suspension - set at medium and works well for me and the girlfriend. Trunk is massive and appreciated. First four stroke - different but good. DO NOT GET IT STUCK. It is a beast. Also appreciate the good advice given here -

Nice. How do you like the EPS? That and the tuner skis were supposed to take care of the darting. The track howl, we all get it. Mine's worse with a 1.5" lug track. Ear plugs are your friend. I actually have noise reducing ear phones with foam plugs that completely block out noise.

I was thinking of getting one of these too but my financial situation changed so making due with the 2010, which ain't bad in itself.

+1 on the noise-cancelling earbuds. I've got a set with active noise cancellation, and it's night and day!

I've found the darting to only be an issue on thin snow over icy base. When the trails are more snow-packed, either freshly groomed or not, have not found darting to be an issue.

Glad to hear you're enjoying it. 3,000 plus happy miles on my 2020 so far. Soften front skid shock and that should help with tippiness. I also installed a set of Fox Float 3 ski shocks to lower ride height and further reduce tippy feeling.

welcome! glad you are enjoying the sled.

brothers 13 venture gt always pushed in the corners even after i set the suspension for him with the stock skis, pre tuners. tried curve xs skis on it and it was better/more predictable. the ones he liked on it where the 09 apex mtx style ski, just had to watch as it would start lifting a ski in the corner when you where pushing it hard.

sounds like you have rear springs set to your liking. i reccomend putting the rear of the sled on a stand and backing the spring tension nuts off on the front rear suspension shock. i set brothers at it was stiff to turn the spring on the shock. then i set the front ski springs so that the a arms are close to parallel to the floor. make sure your skis are set at 1/8" toe out after your adjustments are all done.

lol they all suck when they get stuck. brother boondocked with his quite a few times when he could not borrow mine to do it.

Had an 11 Venture gt. All the guys have good advice for your venture. I put curve xs with leading edge skis on mine. Huge improvement in steering and flotation well worth the money. Check your track tightness, they usually come WAY too tight from dealer. Want to have a good 1.5 to 2 inches of sag. Great machine. Enjoy

Out of curiosity, what effect does loosening the track tension have? I set the suspension as above, so just seeing what else I should do and why :).

Thanks!

If you keep the sag at Yamaha specs you will burn through your sliders quickly. Loosen her up

for gods sake do not take the TF off trail...you'll be sorry and sore from trying to get it unstuck lol...it sinks like a stone. On trail its a fantastic sled...that's what its made for..touring. Congrats on the new sled Derek!!! Well done!!

Hahaha. Definitely will not take it off trail! We bought them for long trail rides with the whole family. Absolutely aware of the, ahem, "girth" of these beasts :).

How can I reduce sled height in front and back without clicker shocks or new shocks? ( to get rid of the tippiness)
