Do anybody have a video of a sidewinder running 3’’ Sandale Hyperflow Exhaust on the snow? I know its going to be louder then stock. Is it just annoying or is it a sound you can deal with. I’m not a trail rider more of a backcountry rider. But I don’t want something that I have to use earplugs with. I’m looking at getting Ulmer package, the quite giant. Which I believe is a Precision EFI tune with the 3’’ exhaust and Ulmer’s clutch kit.

Sound levels are very subjective. I run this exhaust, and although it is louder than stock I don't personally think it's loud. My sled only sees trails & lakes and can run all day without it being annoying. Your backcountry riding will also have the exhaust outlet buried in the snow alot so that will muffle it even more. My $.02

I have a buddy running the 3" Hyperflow/PEFI tune package and he'll get sever headaches unless he uses earplugs. IMO it's WAY too loud and annoying for my tastes. I like quiet myself. Going thru town it's embarrassing to have them this loud.

It's also no faster than my Hurricane tune package and Hurricane 2.5" trail muffler. We run neck and neck all day long, everyday. I tried the 3.5" outlaw just to see if I could pick up any power to beat him and we were still neck and neck. I went back to my 2.5" trail muffle the next day. The 3.5" outlaw 1 was supposed to be no louder than the 3" hyperflow, now I see why he gets a headache.

It’s frickin loud man!!! I went back to a 2.5” hurricane.
I’ll put the 3” sandale on for race days!

I run it. Sounds awesome to me. I wouldn't change it. Much quieter than the 3" Heartbreaker. I wouldn't change it, personally.

Hurricane 270R and CAI.

It's not stock but stock sucks.

Do you happen to have a video of your sled running the exhaust?

Wow,so my old sandale was to loud for ya ha ha. I have been by trail cops here in Maine, but was worried, and wondering when they were coming after me.

So that’s 2 people saying the sound Level is OK and 3 are saying it’s LOUD.

it sounds awesome, don’t get me wrong! But for a multiple day backpack trip, it beats the heck out of your ear drums!
1 day of spankin doos, it’s a beauty !

Is this sound level around the same as a 2 stroke with a can on it? Those things can be loud. But the videos I have seen the 3’’ seems much quite

Video of exhaust does not even come close to telling the story.

When you are riding the machine they are loud, when the machine is going by say for a vid they are not as bad. The problem is you are the one on the machine riding it.

I will tell you the quieter it is, the better and more enjoyable riding it all day is. Why would you even want an exhaust when you have stock muffler tunes up to 270 HP? Loud exhaust is exhausting and will wear on you if you like actual trail riding. If they are run in the deep snow it will be acceptable as the snow helps quiet the noise a bunch.

When going from a 3’’ to 2.5’’ or vice versa do you have to change/adjust your tune?

No, I didn't, and I went and tried the 3.5" outlaw 1 even. I picked up zero going to the 3.5" from the 2.5" baffled Hurricane quiet trail muffler.

No its not as peeky or sharp sounding as any 2-smoke,but does have a good bark at full wack.
