2013 apex xtx with woodys power up kit clutch work and mbrp pipe
Here are my observations after 300 miles on my ‘20 Ltx Le. The centre shock in the skid comes with zero pre load on it. No wonder these doo guys think they are a tank! Have tightened my spring up a 1 1/4” or more. Felling light now and still holding the corners. We have been on the sleds here in western NB for 5 weeks now. This sled seems to handle fine with the tuner 3s after a few tweeks on the skid. Power wise, nothing else like it, I’ve added an mbrp trail pipe and that’s it so far, will run with in a ski length of an 850 with a good clutch kit in it, we have not tried them since I added 144 1.630 triggers in a 4/2 pattern, the 850 was studded when we raced and I was not but it was in 8” of snow, rip 2 track is amazing for sure the best trail track hands down. Have my kit from turbo dynamics with all the good stuff including the tune bundle and dash reflash waiting in the wind but I wanna race my buddy on decent conditions with the studs cause I know I can get the green light at the other end. Wanna do that stock b 4 flashing just because. Lastly. Out testing belts yesterday found the Carlistle xs825 will run the same speed in the exact same distance as the 8jp Yamaha it just comes through the light at 8450 rpm, Yamaha belt 8950 rpm, same speed, same distance back to back runs. Interesting how much the Yamaha belt slips. Anyone running Carlistle needs to lighten the clutch weights. No slippage. Also it threw code SD-26 yesterday. I tightened every clamp and bolt on the intake I could find, still throw it at WOT when getting up past the “c” note. Could this be because of my pipe ? Brand new sled and issue one at 300 miles.

I would not race anything in 8 inches of powder, to many variables, other than the fact that now your body is telling everyone he beat a Winder. Get him on the hard Pac it will be a different story, clutch kit or not a 850 is no match for a Winder.

That’s the thing about us. We line em up no matter the conditions. It’s interesting to see but he’s nervous because a ski in 8” of snow and now me with 144 triggers and hard pack...he’s more then nervous lol. After the 1000 I was gone like a freight train anyways. Nothing but another winder gonna run with em up top.

I think it's funny the 850 guy may have actually convinced himself he can run w a Winder! He's in for a rude awakening lol. Go get 'em!

Be sure to "fix" the offset with Dave bar when you tune it. It will need correct offset to not blow belts. I dont think YAM has address the offset issue yet.

Upgrade the Carlisle to the new Timken. You must have got old stock or had that belt a few seasons.

You wont ever want to ride a stock winder again once you tune it. I did not like mine stock at all on tight trail system.

Love the blue brother!

So you're running it over 100 mph with an aftermarket exhaust without a tune??

Also remember, the Winder will get faster and faster as you put miles on it. Wait til you crack the 1000-1200 Mark, it’ll really start to wake up! That 850 will be mince meat soon.

showed me 117 on the snow so far.

It is the new timken ultimax. I guess I still call them Carlistle. I’ve got the skid handling good and good transfer. As soon as the power comes on it squats back and pulls the skis 5-6” off the snow and just goes. Can lift the skis over trail junk and knowls on the trail as well. Couldn’t the way it came from factory but it had no pre load on Centre shock at al and was a tank on the front but I keep tightening the sprig and it keeps cornering with out push and transferring really well. I really like this sled in stock trim. I’d have no problem running it as is but why not be 230-320 hp at the touch of a button for the $ it’s unreal performance.

I actually have not ruled out just running it this year as is and putting the power to it next year to get pumped for next season. But who am I kidding the thing pulls harder then any other sled I’ve ridden stock and I want to feel that pull on max spool 20 at 320 hp!! Haha over all I really like this sled definitely more then the 850 Polaris I demoed, Polaris handled better for sure but the winder handle great with some suspension tuning for me at 300lbs in a snowmobile suit and the power is just addictive plus the sound from the mbrp trail pipe is really nice too just right. Not obnoxious just a nice sound. Loving the winder

You realize that you shouldn’t be running an aftermarket exhaust without a tune?
Some guys say yes some say no. Dealer said no problem. What’s your theory. Is an mbrp trail not a flow through 3” sandale, or even the race or mountain series.

Most likely it will take the engine down. They are not happy with updated exhaust and stock flash.

The muffler most likely would move AFR readings up .6 - 1.0

Sounds like a recipe for something bad to happen to engine.
Good thing rain is hitting us today and gonna ruin the snow we have till more comes. Guess I’ll send it to the shop and get the flash done now. Seems extreme that a pipe would blow up a 4 stroke but whatever dealer said go ahead and it’s 4 year warranty
