Have you tried contacting AD to see what they think? I still might consider replacing the piston bolt in the good shock. Although, maybe the bolt failed as a result of something else? In the end, the bolt is cheap and it won't hurt.
Your spring is definitely different than mine. My old and new springs were equally spaced from one end to another. I know there were a couple different spring options for this skid.
Regarding bottoming, I bottomed the skid from time to time over 24,000+ miles before it failed. So not sure bottoming had something to do with it. I rode those miles in the 2-4 position and preload was at number 4.

Around 1,000 miles with the ZX2 in the Nytro. This skid is kicking my butt. The Nytro is pretty light in the rear. I had the shocks in the ZX2 stiffened up when it was in my Apex. I am going too have the shocks set back to factory or maybe even softer. Even with adding another 130lb rider on the back, the skid is still harsh.
Out riding today and I started getting a bad ratchet. Based on my experience, I started looking for the missing bolt. Sure enough front right tunnel bolt was gone. Got out the spare I carry only to find the bolt sheared off. Drilled the bolt, stuck in the easy out and snapped it off in the bolt, just great. Ordering a new front shaft. I have not inspected these bolts since I installed the skid. Although, I am not so sure that the bolt loosened up as I got quite a bit of torque on the easy out before it snapped and the bolt never moved. I guess this makes a good time to send the shocks in for a revalve.

Of my experience with the skids from AD Boivin, I always revalved the shocks for rebound. They told me to ride it this year because it was new, but I am sure I will be sending them back for this. Other than that, it is a great skid out of the box. Any conclusions on your steering issues? I would guess at 1,000 miles, you would have a good direction as to where to go. Let me know.

Re: Boggie wheels
I looked everywhere for replacements as have others here. AD is the place to go. I just order a box full of wheels before every season and am done with it for the year.
I have been happy with the stock rebound as that is what I have ran almost the entire time. I tried to have the rebound changed once and hated it. Immediately sent the shocks back and had them reverted to the original valving. The back of the Nytro seems a lot lighter than the Apex. When it is not full of snow, it can be picked up with ease. The valving is just too stiff right now. When I get in the big wash outs, I am hardly getting into the travel of the shocks. Running Slydogs now. Steering effort is great. Bite and predictability is horrible. Once I get the ZX2 setup right, I will try to add the Curves again. Getting more comfortable on the sled, but a long ways away from where I was on the Apex. Having the rear out of balance has a lot to do with the entire ride.

After further inspection and finding the broken bolt floating around up front by the chain case, I can say for sure that the bolt was still torqued down. It snapped 1/4" inside the shaft. The guides on the front rail are also worn pretty good. Not sure if this was caused by running without the bolt for 20 miles or so. Anyone have any thoughts on what caused the failure?
The bearings on my front wheels failed completely (they were gone). The shaft was tore up pretty good as well as the spacers. I already had a spare shaft, but will need to order spacers. We have a lot of snirt right now, probably doesn't help the bearings!

Finally talked to AD Boivin this morning. They never had a shock break like this before!
$450 for a complete shock assembly. I guess I'm going to send the good one back and have then open it also.

That is pretty frustrating. I have an email conversation that shows they have seen this before, as I sent them my photos last year. Lets hope for both our sakes that it does not happen again. Are you going to send them the damaged shock as well?

I'm sending both shocks back, he thinks he can salvage some parts off the bad shock.
I'm also sending the good shock and spring so he can take it apart and replace the screw that holds the shaft.
Also like you said before, they used some different springs, so he needs it to match them.

This vibration that you have, is it on the floor boards by the foot well. I don't know if it is my imagination or not but it feels like I have the same vibration. I installed the zx2 at the beginning of the season so I can't remember if I had it last year with my stock skid. Did you ever find out what was/is causing it. I have checked everything on the skid and it all looks fine.

There may have been some vibration felt in the floor boards but if the vibration is happening to you like it was to me there would be no question about it. It is like rumble strips at low speed in a car.
Strangely, so far I have only noticed the vibration in the Nytro when coming to stop. I have not been feeling the vibration when moving at low speeds like I would when the skid was in the Apex.
I put the new front swing arm shaft in this weekend and also replaced the front wheel shaft (the one between the rails) along with both spacers. My shocks have been revalved and I am waiting for some snow to test.
