Adapt clutch rattle at idle

Youre the second guy ive heard that says the spider comes right out after taking the 6 bolts out. I did this and that sucker is not coming off.

Yes spider is a tight fit into center "hub" after bolts are removed, light tap from a hammer will free it.

I'm seeing lots of problems even with Cats new Adapt. Why can't Cat seem to build a clutch that doesn't explode or fail in dramatic fashion? I've seen more photos now with exploded Adapts and we don't even need to talk about all the TEAM primaries. How is it a clutch like the PB80 can hold up well but Cats new Adapt can't? If Cat is going to survive they need to find a better clutch manufacturer.

I have a new adapt comming from country cat as i write this, this "new" one has been superceded by two or three part numbers, looks like it will be like the "improved" 8000 with steel spider and heavy cover with dowl pin locaters...fingers crossed cause the previous two adapts have been plain crap!!!!!

I thought about getting one of those "new" ones for a back up. They are priced pretty reasonable I thought.

Yes sir $389 but no wieghts or pins, i like the adapt so hopefully its all sorted out now, have my cat set up tapp back on for now.

Well i can say the steel spider may be stronger butttt....a whole 72 trail miles on the new adapt and the thrust side buttons are gone!!!! Sounds like a rattlin diesel, and 45 of those miles were easy new belt break in miles.

I think one of the most cost effective solutions to the cat clutch issues is to order in and install a Sidewinder jackshaft, find a good used Apex clutch, Sidewinder Secondary and run Yamaha clutches!
If I had to replace my SW, and wanted a brand new sled, I would be looking at a new TCat and convert it over to Yamaha clutches as all my clutch parts, spare clutches, weights, springs , helixs, tools, ect ect are for Yamahas.
