Anyone use or heard of schmidt bros air intake?on their website looks like 10 little pods in the airbox.they claim 5 to 7 hp with their intake and I certainly don't believe that.just curious.

Checked out excels and for sure not spending 399 usd when I live in canada also cant find the air box mod on ulmers site .thanks for the tips

Straight line performance has Ulmer's airbox mod on their website.

Well I think I'm going to pass and just do the sandale can.dont want to do a fuel controller and I'm getting way over my head on that one.ordered the big venom and going the see Mike at sandale in the next week or so and will leave stock air intake.

Try Shmidt Brothers.. Just saw it on line at there site for 199.00. Looks to be the same mod as Ulmers.

I’ve seen somewhere on TY that the DIY airbox mod makes just as much power as the excel/ulmer/SBM kit. I did the DIY airbox mod and it made a huge difference. I’m deployed now but when I get back I plan on putting some more venting in the actual nose cone, purchasing a quiet can and playing around with a PCV. And matching all the new power with clutching. Hoping to get all the power possible out of it without boosting it.

I wouldn't worry too much, the factory tune is plenty rich. I'm running Straightline/Ulmer can and Stingray DIY airbox mod and don't notice any flat/lean spots in the power band with the newest factory flash. There is a couple of horsepower to be gained with a Fuel Controller though.

Weren't people having problems with the divider cracking on the airbox mods?

I took the divider out. It didn’t seem to make a difference. And the dividers were cracking, or showing early signs of cracking in the stock sleds too. I wouldn’t hesitate to do the DIY stingray mod again (including the removal of the divider). It definitely woke my sled up. A lot. I was surpised. But I still want more power.

What do your spark plugs look like after running the aftermarket exhaust and intake with no PCV? Still a nice brown color?

I think my sled runs so rich in stock trim I probably wouldn’t need a PCV. I’m going to go that route anyways so I can get those last few ponies out of it.
