I heard again today at the dealership as I was picking up my new rx1 that Yamy is coming out with a 2 cylinder turbo 4-stroke in 06

Turbo? yes. 2 cylinder? I don't think so.

a 300 hp sled with 40 ft lbs of torque would fall on its face.torque= quickness.hp= top end.JDKRXW said:Hebi said:I think its very likely that Yamaha will use a 2-valve cylinder head for this engine because it will limit the high-rpm efficiency of the engine but by keeping the displacement big it will still have lots of low-end torque.

I think you're right about the two valve head, but your reasoning is not correct. If we're talking about factory turbos, boost takes care of the engine's breathing efficiency, and 2 valves can be made to perform the same way a 5 valve head does....... so two valves can run great at 10,000+ rpm (and I'll take HP over torque every time)
Not me. Id much rathar have an engine that makes 100 ft-lbs of torque and only makes 80 hp than to have one that makes 100 hp and 80 ft-lbs of torque.JDKRXW said:(and I'll take HP over torque every time)
