Asphalt Results "2007"

Ryan, Allen and I both tried to hook up a VDO tach, and the signal is so different, that the tach won't read it. Tried to figure it out, but no luck.

Wayne, Ryan is right, try working on the skid to get to your best hookup and then work on clutching. Try to get the track more sticky, either big burnout, or try some VHT on a rag and apply a thin layer. Then try to just do a scrub before the starting line.

Ryan, I dropped the parts off, and have your money.

Terry,

I'll try the new suspension set up. Hopefully the changes will make it better.

flmcut1 (Mike) is coming down Friday night to check out my Nitrous set up. I've offered to let him take a run down the strip. Maybe he'll get "hooked' and set his sled up for asphalt

Had a good time at NYIRP tonight. Made some progress and have some more stuff to try tomorrow. Low 6.6s at just over 100mph in the 1/8th and 10.6s in the 1/4. Still high 1.4 60' times. Hopefully I have the answer for that tomorrow. I'll put up more details after the test and tune at ESTA.

want to give big thanks wayne stoutner for showing me inside off nos asphalt racing. last nite we meet up and got to see his sled ,watch him an Cory do some runs. ty mike

Good time Friday night. Did get some good 60' time improvement. Consistant 1.55 with what i thought was a slippery track. Ski lift is all gone finally. Now, I've got to run another day to see if I can get the track to stop spinning. Starts were solid, hit nitrous at about 60' - 100' range and spun track for about 100' after hitting button. Still Ran 10.19-10.25 at 128mph. Man, I need someone skinny to run my sled....lol

For the record, I am now 5 wins 10 losses against Corey....but, he says he has a surprise for me by end of summer. Nitrous, Turbo, Super....who knows. I can't wait to see though.

I'm running about a 90 hp shot of nitrous and discovered that I'm burning about 1 lb per 10 seconds. That sucks because my 2.5 lb bottle now only lasts for 2.5 runs...oh well.

P.S. It was nice to meet another TY guy (Mike). I hope to help him get set up with nitrous by this winter.

Mike- it was nice meeting you. Rochester was a good time. I never made a run at ESTA on Saturday. Had lots of stuff to try, but got all set up and my battery was dead. I ended up watching for a bit then loading up and going home. Here's the results from Friday at NYIRP:

60': 1.52
1/8: 6.73 @ 98.85
1/4: 10.84 @ 116.12

tried a new primary spring/ setup and tweaked between every run. Mostly secondary changes.
60': 1.47
1/8: 6.62 @ 100.00
1/4: 10.69 @ 117.29

60': 1.47
1/8: 6.62 @ 100.25
1/4: 10.67 @ 117.75

60': 1.47
1/8: 6.60 @ 100.48
1/4: 10.64 @ 118.09

60': 1.48
1/8: 6.61 @ 100.72
1/4: 10.64 @ 118.04

60': 1.51
1/8: 6.67 @ 100.32
1/4: 10.72 @ 117.53

60': 1.49
1/8: 6.64 @ 100.87
1/4: 10.65 @ 119.03

60': 1.50
1/8: 6.67 @ 100.40
1/4: 10.71 @ 117.72

I'm still somewhat baffled by how I can make significant changes and still run close to the same time. I still need another good test day to try out my list of stuff. Expect to see the 60' times coming down. I don't think 10.4s are out of the question either.

Yes, I must say that Wayne has been getting things figured out at the track. My stock motored RX can no longer beat his Apex with a 90hp nos shot. :moon: .....for now anyway.

Hey that's mean> My poor Apex has to carry a lot more weight down the track than your RX does. I need at least 50HP shot just to carry my fat arse down that track. The extra 40 is just bonus Power :die

P.S. What's on the Horizon?

Going to try to get out one more time here soon, but things are getting busy with grass drag testing and we will likely be done for the season on the asphalt then. Too much to do and not enough time to do it in!

:o|
