Hey everybody!
Well, the weekend was a busy one, but made a lot of changes with clutching on the SRX, and some minor fuel changes.
Friday was terrible traction, and couldn't pull a good 60' out of my butt if I tried. Saturday, tried the same clutching with sucking the belt in the secondary to try an get some 60' times back. Yep.....put the ol' red eye on 2nd round by -.011 to a pro-bike rider. Sunday put on a helix that was real steep on top, and.....WHAMO! 1.33-1.35 60 foot times. Was doing great untill I must have spun on some oil or something on the line, cause the sled just jumped and hopped for the 1st hundred feet. I would have caught him, as he had a bad light, but was a close race anyway.
Wayne, you did awesome on the Attak, and the guys were glad you and Paul came up. THe rain was the largest downfall on Saturday, off/on/off/on, but didn't let our spirits down. Was able to really show you Wisconsin's weird weather pattern, and was 77° and sunny till 4pm, and then it rained and dropped 30° in a couple hours. Slept in Chris Beilak's trailer, and woke up to 35° Sunday morning to work on some clutching. Hope you get your sled running good 60's and I will get that clutching profile to you tonight, as I have lots of information to post. Paul, great pictures man, and if you get them all in an email, mine is tlb@lsol.net

Ryan, I was going to try to make one more pass to see if I could get it into the 1.4's for the 60' and see if it would pull through and run a low 10.8 or high 10.7 but a car lost it's brakes and went off the end of the track just as I was getting ready to go back up into the staging lanes. It ended up being a 2 hour delay to get the car out so I packed up and left for home. Maybe next time!

I wasn't really into it either. Met nyattack as he and his buddy were there today. It was nice to put another name and face together. Porbably taking next weekend off and I hope to get out to another test day soon.
Corey,
I might test at NYIRP on friday night. interested???

Buster,
Sounds good. I look forward to meeting you.
Terry,
I will e-mail you the pictures tonight. I have them all on my laptop. Also, I sure would like to return the hospitality. That June 3rd race at NYIRP should be pretty fun. I was thinking you could just throw your gear in your truck and throw your sled in the back. I have plenty of room at my house if you wanted to come down and stay for the weekend. At NYIRP, Saturday June 2nd is a regular race day and Sunday June 3rd is the bike/sled shootout. Bikes and sleds only on Sunday! their web site is www.nyirp.com
Here is a link to the flyer http://nyirp.com/2007%20bike%20shoot%20out%20flyer.pdf
My understanding is that they are running a heads up motor only class, a heads up run what you brung class, and a bracket race class. It should be a blast. I like to see some good heads up racing!

Sounds good. Hopefully the weather holds. I may need some help with the skid.

Glad to see everyone getting in some runs. This was an off weekend for me, so thought I'd finally get around to posting the results from our 'Mother's Day' event. You know you're happily married when you can spend all day at the track... same day every year.
Just 4 passes (never a good thing). For those who may have forgot, we run 1/8th due to limited shutdown on a full 1/4 mile pass.
First TT of the new season
RT .5288
60ft 1.4512
1/8th 6.6821
MPH 98.89
Oil down before sled class... therefore cold track. Slept on the light.
RT .6360
60ft 1.4399
1/8th 6.7000
MPH 98.26
Elimination Round #1
Dial 6.69
RT .5498
60ft 1.424
1/8th 6.6833
MPH 97.16
Was on the brakes... just not enough.
Went back and helped the others. Did a T/T later in the day with a different helix. Very happy with the results.
60ft 1.4018
1/8th 6.6252
MPH 99.55
Will try and upload a pic of the sled. It is a '05 with a ProAction skid bolted in... I had run the skid before and done OK by it. Only real issue with the skid is the weight. Very, very heavy. Sled is stock except for clutching (Allen’s stuff), gearing, and K&N's with silver springs. Filters are mounted on the stock carb boots.
PS
Glad to see your 60ft time coming down Allen. By chance… did any bad red lights come with poor 60ft times? Let me know.

Wow, we have a few people doing asphalt this year, busy post!!!!
Well it was our season opener here this weekend and I didn't make it out for T&T on Saturday, but got out Sunday and did a few time trials with the new skid and track. The track wasn't great, probably due to weather and new management. It was cool and dam. Anyway the thing got real crazy the first run, probably due to the new track and no heat or rubber on the lane. It spun a little off the start then pretty much hooked up, or felt like it, then totally broke loose at around the 660’ mark and the back end was going from side to side and I let off before it totally went out of control. I’ve never had that happen before. Anyway the rest of the passes were not bad although the traction off the line was not the greatest. I did manage a flat 10.0009 second pass though. Made to past round one only to be shut down due to rain. Just before they shut it down a girl got thrown from her sled close to the end of the track and slid across the opposite lane into the guardrail. Fortunately for her she slid behind the opponent’s car, but I heard she did break her arm and was sent into Winnipeg for surgery to her elbow. She has lots of experience racing on ice but I heard this was one of her first times on asphalt and she was apparently not to comfortable with it, but her husband convinced her into continuing. She’s not local and we had never seen her race here before. Nobody knows what really happened but lots were speculating the it was starting to rain at the end of the track, but was totally dry at the start and that she may have hit a small bump in the track where it cause the track to break loose. The sled went sideways a little then hooked again and she flew off. No damage to the sled it just glided straight, didn’t hit anything and didn’t roll. She was pretty lucky after all.
Today was a rainout, so we just packed up and went home.

Sorry I didn't get to post my times from this last weekends racing, as I was busy going over the Apex/Attak, and trying to scrounge up a couple pounds of nitrous. Told you guys Rich from "PINKS" will be at Union Grove (Great Lakes Dragaway) tonight to start a new show called "Name that Test & Tune" Tried calling Rich this weekend, and left a voicemail. We talked yesterday at noon, and Rich asked if I was coming down to Da' Grove, and I told him to probably watch. I said why, and he said bring the sled, as he was going to put it on the show. Now I will let you know tomorrow if it WILL be on the show, .......and I hope it is. This is just unreal!
Again,....Thanks to all who have helped me here on TY, and to everybody who helped me get on "PINKS"........THANK YOU!!!!!!

Jeff, I'd have to go back in my notebook and look at the reaction times but they were all over the place. I'd leave when the 3rd yellow would light up and redlight by .100 and I'd try waiting until I saw the 3rd yellow on and cut a .400 light (.000 being perfect). Just nothing consistant. That's when I noticed when I was staging that the stage light would flicker on, then off and as I rolled ahead a little more it would come on and stay on. I believe the beam is picking up off of the ski loop only.
Don, when looking at the sled sitting on the pavement is the front of the track and the rear of the track on the ground at the same time? It almost sounds like the front of the skid is touching while the rear isn't? Did I read somewhere you picked up a SRX too?

700Canuk - I will post everything tomorrow, as I probably will just go right to work at 4am, right from the track. All I know is it will be like a game show, where the people guess the 1/4 mile time that the vehicle will run.
Jealous...Yes, a couple people are, and I wish they wouldn't be, as I want everyone to have the chance of the lifetime, like I am having. Great, you bet! But I am a people person, and hope friendships don't end because of this. I know you, and know you want the best for me, and that you are being sarcastic, but some of the people here at my work are not dealing with it, and since yesterday, have seen people change the way they talk and look at me. I would love to have all you great guys there with me!!!!!
