I can't make up my mind. I know most on this site will say Attak. Can anyone who has ridden both please advise the reason they would make their choice. The price for me to trade is exactly the same. Your comments will be appreciated.

Gade better off trail in the deep but Attak better on the trails. Gade slightly faster on the lake top end. 06 Gade 1000 had many engine calibration problems Attak only had grip heater problem plus rear idler wheel problem, both minor and will be corrected by Yamaha. If you can test ride each and you will see the difference for yourself.

I just went through this decision process myself with the same sleds. I spent waaay too much time going through as much info as I could find at the various sites, HCS, DOOTalk, TY4S... etc.

I ended up deciding the Attak GT. Reasons?:

1. 4 Stroke... no more smell or oil to deal with on long trips
2. Yamaha seems to have limited major engine failures, found many examples of majors on DooTalk (possibly skewed due to more overall sales for Doo?)
3. I sat on both... the riding postion of the Attak is more suited to me (personal issue here... go sit on both to decide)
4. 3 year warranty on the Yammi with 2 additional years for $250.
5. the Sound of the 4 stroke turns my crank!

That's all I can think of right now...

If your gonna ride real deep snow don,t get the Attak. I rode mine in 3-4' powder this weekend & it is a trenchomatic non floating not good in deep powder machine. Cross fire 7 ridiculed me in the deep stuff...but..if snow does not get over 2' deep then the Attak suddenly is a huge improvement.

I had 06 Attak and 05 Mach Z. Rode with 06 1000 Renegade. IMHO, Attak like Jaguar, 1000 Gade more like corvette. Attak smoother power, more comfortable,Gade slightly faster up top cruder power. Price same, MPG same. Neither are really off trail sleds slight advantage here to Gade. I've ordered 07 Attak GT. studdog

Formula pro the 07 yamaha's come with the extra 2 year warranty you don'r have to purchase it!

My Bro is switching to Attak from his Gade in 07!!!

He had 10 years on Doo!

3 Year warranty, yes!

$225-$250 more get 5 years!!!

If you want to have a bonfire on side of trail buy the renegade...(I'm serious!,they start on fire!)

there were litterally hundreds of engine failures on the SDI 1000 motors over the past season alone(fact)...for reliability ONLY the yammies are only choice.

If you want to be fastest, then buy the DOO.

Dan, Are you telling me that a renegade is faster on top than our sleds.I have never been top ended by a renegade...Yes a well tuned mach but not a renegade. All of the renegades around here run 108-112mph when they aren't in the limp home mode.

Just got back from a 900 mile trip. One guy had a Renegade 1000 and I had my 2005 RX1.

Lined up several times....my RX1 would pull the Gade from the start until about 1500 feet then the gade walked by me. I personally had 2 Renegade 800's and this past weekend rode the 1000 SDI. I was not impressed. The Gade was shaky in the bars, hard to steer in corners, ran out of gas in 100 miles and the starter went out on it....have you ever tried to pull start a 1000? WOW!...can you say difficult? I looked at buying one after my Renegade 800 but after riding one....never.

Alot of guys say "that's just 1 instance...not all of them are like that". That's no excuse. For a $17K CDN sled, that thing and all of them should run like a missle and be as relaible as my 4-stroke. They're not.

Shame on Doo for taking that much money for a pile of junk. 2 seasons and they still don't have their sh&t together. It's too bad because I really like the looks of the MachZ.

Many comments have been posted regarding the choice you would expext on TY. Having been on both in question, and owning a GT this year, and now back on a Renegade, all I can say is make every effort to actually ride each one for an afternoon or so. Just sitting on one is not like 150 miles on rough or smooth trails. There is a noticeable handling difference between the two, and it comes down to preference. If I could have it my way I would have a slightly lighter Apex motor in the Rev Renegade chassis...

Ya we know all about you and your Apex. The Apex GT had the most problems with suspension setup of all the Apex's. I think Yamaha missed the boat with that sled. I have the Apex ER and I never had all the ill handling problems the GT guys did. I also own two Rev's and my Apex. I put over 1900 miles on my Apex which is about 1600 more miles then you did on your GT. I don't know how anybody could own a sled for only 300 miles and have an honest opinion about it? I have over 6000 miles of Rev miles under my belt and I can honestly say I wouldn't trade the ride, handling or engine performance of my Apex for any Rev.
