There seems to no rules to winter weather anymore. Upper 30’s southern Minnesota today, northern Minnesota which should be colder is mid to upper 40’s, 40’s in the UP too. Nothing makes sense anymore.

I think this is now the third groomer to go through the ice in Manitoba this year. I've never heard of that many before. Winters are messed up now.

Even here in NWO we have barely over 18" of ice and normal is over 3 feet.

Man this sport just rocks. Guy really appreciates the good years and good health to ride. I always get fired up about this BS weather. But it makes you really appreciate those good years and ride.I was out yesterday for the last time from the looks of the forecast. I tried some old Hartman ski scratchers but they didn't do much. Need more down pressure on them. Had to keep a close eye on the water temp.
We need more snow after this last thaw, and we might get some this week if the track runs over us, but there's also rain in the forecast so who knows. It's been a great southern MN winter till now....

It's getting harder and harder to keep the faith. The weather isn't cooperating, my body isn't cooperating, the sled sometimes doesn't cooperate, it's getting more expensive, idiots who don't follow the rules get trails closed and we're left with a bunch of road runs. It's getting tiring to keep seeing red on the map and saying "it'll be better next year". My son is also seriously considering selling his sled. My wife can't ride anymore since her sledding accident a few years ago and it's sometimes difficult to find riding partners so I wind up riding alone. Trailering and doing the hotel thing has become very expensive even if I could find someone to go.
It's the ONLY thing I used to look forward to every year and now I just have this sense of dread before each season.
Then of course I have this fear that if I sell my sled, it will be the year of epic snow and will regret my decision.
Sorry for laying this out here. Just need to contemplate my future in the sport.

We rode Northern VT yesterday. I’m not exaggerating when I say that it felt like we were riding in late March or early April. The sun was strong and conditions deteriorated rapidly throughout the day.

Thanks to this worthless warm up I now have an Emergency Room bill on the way. My daughter slipped on an icy sidewalk last night from all the melting and refreezing and spent the night in the ER.

A friend of ours fell off a roof, and broke his arm near the wrist to where his hand was just dangling.

It's hard to believe 46°f today in Northern Wis.
I'm starting to realize that I'm preparing for next year.

Very frustrating. On a lighter note, pilots shooting down all these airborne objects over North America have agreed they eerily look like boost cylinder heads...It's hard to believe 46°f today in Northern Wis.

lol! And once again, The laws will be tested. While I understand tech has moved forward, I'm not convinced the 2s, in factory form, has. They still hold some of the fastest speed records. Anyway?!?!Very frustrating. On a lighter note, pilots shooting down all these airborne objects over North America have agreed they eerily look like boost cylinder heads...
It's crazy to think how far they entered our airspace? Actually, on 5 continents.
They have some cowardly purpose?!?!

Hard to tell at this point. Getting any truth from the govt. is sketchy at best. "Look, a squirrel"....to distract us. Happens all the time. Unless its Greta Thunburg and her climate manipulation drones gone mad!!lol! And once again, The laws will be tested. I like 2 strokes, just not in my sleds anymore.
Wonder where those 500hp apexs and rx1s are!! Thought I read once where some mountain mods had nearly 1000hp with turbos ..nitrous...if true, that is impressive. And someone is always faster.
