When the boost comes up air fuiel guage goes red and moter dies. Have you guyes had this happen to you.

no go...

you should give more details!! fuel pump? pressure? air press.in
carb bowls? what kit did you install? just installed or new problem? GIVE MORE DETAILS

Bender stage 2. New 0 miles on kit. It starts good drives around until boost comes up. Do not have fuiel pressure guage. Maby i need one. Have checked all lines for leeks cant find any. With Holtsman light carb springs it will rev up if your very carefull. With stock springs will not go past boost.

Use the stock springs, there is no need for lighter springs.

I believe your fuel pump is not functioning. Additional fuel pressure is essential when boost pressure arrives :D

no go

u can hook up a temporary fuel gauge and check for air hoses to carb.
slides... your slides may not respond to boost (stay closed...)

I have checked both lines and seamed to be ok. It doese act like it is in the slide because with light springs it will rev up thow not right. What is the jet in the charge tube doo.

no go

On some of the turbo kits i made, i had to install a labyrinth like plate
in plenum to prevent airflow that blows on the slides to ''jam them
against carb. body. they would not lift when boost came on...
or you could try DOWNSIZING the jet on bender's pilot tube to
richen mixture dont give up ;)!

no go

The jet creates a LEAK in the carb. bowl pressurisation circuit so by
UPSIZING jet you LEAN OUT mixture (less press. in bowls)

I wouldn't go trying to re-invent the wheel. Bender has built a very high quality, very well designed turbo kit. If it has been installed as per the instructions and is not working properly, the best (only) thing you should be doing is waiting until Monday when you can speak to Bender themselves. Swapping Cv springs, adjusting fuel pressure, etc. will lkely only mask a real problem if it does anything at all. Also, turbo motors and incorrect fuel pressure are a bad, expensive combo. Do yourself (and Bender) a favor, and leave it be until you speak with them directly.

I know a fair bit about turbos, and that's the best advice I can give you...

For my sled the suggested jetting in the charge tube was off. For my sled to run right with low boost, I had to use a 220 jet. The jet that was provided was way too lean and needed the choke on to just drive across the yard.

You are obviously not getting enough fuel. My bet is it is related te pressurizing your float bowls. It sounds more extreme than the wrong size of pitot jet, as that would cause a lean condition but it would not likely kill the motor.

Some suggestions:
1) Did you remember to put in the pitot jet? If yes what size.
2) Did you use superglue on the float bowl tees and are you positive they are sealed? This is absolutely crucial!!
3) Are you sure you have the lines routed properly?
4) Do you have the valves turned off from the old fuel pumps?
5) Check the fuel line going from the electric fuel pump. I had mine turned upwards and when I would install my airbox it would kink the fuel line enough that I would run out of fuel. (took me along time to find that one).

If none of that works PM me your phone number. I would be happy to try and help.

Hey Powder I just thought of another suggestion.....

Take a pic of your hose routing and post it so we can look at it.

Thanks for the info. I may have the problem fixed. I removed all hoses and fittings and reinstaled them. Now seams ok. Will haft to test on snow to know for sure.

Well still have same problem. Went from 700 jet down to 250 in 10 steps no change. With 350 got it to run for about 50mi would just out run 700m1 .A bit inberissing. Fuiel pressure at about 8lb at idle goes up to 12 when air fuiel gauge goes lean. I am almost redy to take it off. At least stock I can ride.
