BRP Ice Scratchers

So here are some pics of my Doo rail mounted scratchers on my Turbo Viper (129" skid). I got them mounted pretty far forward on the skid by moving my second set of outer idler wheels towards the back of the skid. The idlers are mounted in some stock holes at the back end of the rails and the scratchers do not come in contact with the upper idlers under full compression of the skid. Normally that second set of idlers are mounted on the inside of the rails. But because of the reservoir on my rear shock, they can't go on the inside. I ran these same scratchers on my son's Phazer last season, and they worked great.

Whats the cost on them?

About $70 on Amazon ... part number SM-12542. I don't think these particular scratchers are offered by Doo anymore. They have been replaced in favor of the other rail mounted version noted earlier in this thread.

Thank you Sir!

I had them the ones mounted to running boards, they worked great scratching but the spray missed my snow flap thus not working , if you have a long track maybe .the ones on the rails worked for me, just saying, check it.

I will definetely be keeping an eye out for sure to see how they work on my 137. When you tried the tunnel ones, were they on a 129 or 137?

I wanted to add to this thread, I bought these for my 129" R-TX and used this to install. I realized in the first 5min that the hanger for the rear skid is much different in thr 129 vs the 137. The 129 it's much shorter making the spring needing to be right tucked to the running board so a small modification was needed to thr one end of the bushing. Still went on well. So much better than any other solution I have tried!

I love these ice scratchers. Very easy install and nice to just swing up and hang them on the hook when not needed. No worries about nicking up the rails like my rail ones did. Worked great all last year when I needed to use them. I really like the spring pressure they have when in the down position.

I have a new set on order with my dealer. He had just installed them on a new sidewinder. They are a cable style mounted on the A arm. As soon as they come in and I get them mounted, I will post pictures.

Are they the Trail Blizzer from Qualipieces?

I saw them at the Big East Powersports show and liked the design. Wondering how they will work.

Yes, those are the ones. Can't see why they won't. You should be able to turn them more or less aggressive into the snow. Like the rubber hook-up to the side when you are not using them.

Why do people drive down a snow covered trail with ice scratchers down?
They just spray snow everywhere and drive down the middle of the trail. My hyfax hold up just fine riding down the trail without them.

Ice scratchers are for ice!
