That Dalton red is a little softer than the Yammi silver..?? That would make it slightly softer than stock. Anyone verify this.

Yamaha silver is too soft for a turbo. To much belt slip

i have the hauck h helix which is 47-43. hauck black primary spring, and silver secondary set at (6-1). running the 8dn it seemed great but top was only 109. rpm 8700 all the way through. run a gates version of the 8jp and it seemed to slip on top end but i was breaking trail. just seems i have some secondary binding. thinking of trying the stock secondary spring. but might have to wind it tighter 6-2? running the hurricane turbo.

Yup secondary is binding.... Do a test with the washers under the helix, you will know right away and will only cost you 3 washers, a little time grinding and time to install

i was just reading your posts on the washers. will get some and try. it just seems to stop gaining speed and sits at 8800.

So even when it stops at 109 it still doesn't climb in rpm? Mine was deadlocked at 109 mph too as I'm sure the secondary was binding up, only thing with mine was that rpm would climb and hit the rev limiter acting as if it was shifted out completely

no wont hit the limiter. just holds steady. i figured it should still clim too. mine seems to be robbing power.

Gotcha, ya mine climbs up and will start tapping the rev limiter, holds steady rpm to about 105 then rpm gains from there, deadlocked at 109 and hitting rev limiter

Sounds to me that your running out of gearing it would be interesting when you get your new gears in to see what happens without Changing anything elseGotcha, ya mine climbs up and will start tapping the rev limiter, holds steady rpm to about 105 then rpm gains from there, deadlocked at 109 and hitting rev limiter

i think i would like to gain some rpm too about 150 throughout. i dont ever hit the limiter. 8800 is the most i see and usually at 8650 to 8750 steadily through the power band so the helix angles seem great. so might take some out of the tip.

That's how mine is acting, I'm going to wait to change gears until I do some top speed runs with ulmers secondary spring to see if that gains and speed. Don't need much distance, just good conditions, before it was running 109 mph in just a whisker over 1000'

Stock spring will bind as well. When I got my clutches machined by dave at hurricane he said my secondary spring was binding bad.
Stock gearing on a RTX will run out of gear around 116 mph. Not sure about the xtx but I'm sure its less mph
