Xtx had smaller drivers but more gearing, the xtx is actually within 1 mph of the rtx and ltx. Anyone know roughly what kinda of percentage of overdrive you get with totally stock (unmachined) clutches when there are no coil binding issues going on?

if its 1 mph out of rtx then you should get around 115 mph before you run out of gear with unmachined clutches

I don't have any, maybe Allen could post then but I doubt as tho he is following this thread. He described it as being about the same as the stock pink spring

LOL! Now that is funny!
This whole thread is beyond cleaning up Stingray. I am truly sorry. Too much good info to delete any of it. All I can suggest is that people like Studroes either post a new specific thread or PM. This has become the place to go for clutching issues and some of us have them for sure..... Studroes I am running into the exact same issue. MPH barrier. I am stuck at 96-98mph and have clutched rpm both before and after rev limit I know for sure my clutches and chassis are capable of 105mph did it last year stock. My mid range is unbelievable top end sucks and am dead even with a stock/Clutched,MBRPcan 7000! Only change other than weights was adding that Red Ulmer spring at 6-1. Have you tried less wrap on your secondary? Dont forget even though our motor makes hp well past revlimit torque is falling fast. Maybe not enough torque to shift that secondary out? My next experiment.

When there is no snow, I sit around thinking too much. I like the idea of running a flatter style weight to get more top end. Can I run the gwg , shims, and the 8fp weights and leave the Ulmer spring & helix with 6 and 2 wrap as is. Does anyone know what the Ulmer helix is. Is it a 46/40? Both my clutches were machined by Ulmer's and I do run the 8dn belt. I am not looking to race the world, I just want it too run 105 to 110 in good conditions without a Turbo.

Try it, but you might want to back it down to 6-1 or even 3-3.

I'll go check my clutch sheet, but pretty sure my Ulmer secondary came spec'd at 6-2. Helix is a K but not sure which angles this is.

The K helix is a 49/41 progressively cut helix.
Oh and even though my clutches are clean and I am running the 8dn I have a ton of belt dust once again.

Mine is a K also. I was told 6-1 maybe it will be that simple but if so that red spring at 6-1 is only good for 90-95 mph. Wouldnt matter what power you have as long as primary is adjusted for rpm.I'll go check my clutch sheet, but pretty sure my Ulmer secondary came spec'd at 6-2. But you are not running the "clutching on the cheap" clutch kit right? Do you have access to a set of 8fp weights? If not I have a set I can send you to test, and send back when done. Try the GWG spring with shim and 8fp weights and see if your top speed is correct and if you still have belt dust please.
Stingray its handled going to try alot including your kit,Magnaforce from Studroes and Ulmers advice of 6-2 which is more wrap than I had. This weekend will do it. Tomorrow I am trying 3-2wrap right in the ditch. Thank You for offer Stingray. Stay tuned.
