About to order the parts for the cotc quick question though I see that it gives smooth engagement and better top end. My question is will I lose low end torque though?

No, that is the one thing that the 8FP weights do is make it pull like hard on low end and mid range and still have good top end
I know there are a lot of posts here, but I see all that have tried the setup love the low engagement and pull on bottom end. I will let them reply

In my experience I seemed to gain everywhere. It pulls really hard from launch straight through to 100 mph.

Well, I almost got mine dialed in. I've got about 800 miles on it.
14 rtx unstudded, 8dn belt
8fp weights, 4.5 in tip, 2.44 in center
Gwg spring with 4 shims
46/40 helix
Wrap is at 6-1
Awesome everywhere, but max speed is 97, banging the rev limiter somewhere above 90.
Do you think 3-3 will get me off the limiter, or should I throw 1 or 2 more grams at the weights?

Remove 2 shims. You need more belt grab at wot.

If you don't need much the 3-3 wrap may do it and as that is a quick and easy change I would try that first.

Slight raise in clutch engagement and more power throughout the range.

Will the slight raise cause it to creep forward smoother?Slight raise in clutch engagement and more power throughout the range.

The stock 8GL weights have a raised bump on the heel that causes higher revs at take off. The shim will raise the take off rpm a little and make that worse so if slow take off is what you are after do not shim it, but put the full COTC in it and then it will creep along with a very low engagement.
If you don't wish to do a lot of changing Barn Of Parts vendor on here has the "Soft Touch" primary spring that will lower your engagement speed a lot. And if I remember right it is only a 26 dollar spring.

Sure thing, http://www.barnofparts.com/Soft-Start-Clutching-NEW-.html
I run that spring in both my Vipers now, might drop a small amount of speed but the ultra smooth takeoff is worth it to me.

Thank you very much. You helped out a lot. Quick question does this spring ruin the low end speed if I wide open throttle it. Or is it pretty close to stock for power when wanted?Sure thing, http://www.barnofparts.com/Soft-Start-Clutching-NEW-.html
