The 180 is not what they stated for this engine. What they wanted to do was create a true 180+ hp class for the industry and they set their guidelines on 200 hp as the goal and owning the class for some time to come. IF you have been around turbos for a while you know that HP actually varies each time you ride it. warmer days mean less hp as the intercooler cannot keep the incoming charge cold and dense enough. They will vary 4-6 hp from my experience. Why do you think aftermarket large inter coolers are all the rage. My bet is you will find that it will be quite close to 200 as that is where they wanted it from the get go! Regularly seeing 190-195 should be the norm. We shall see if what I was told is correct! IF we do see 195 hp and it runs 12 psi stock we should see 250 out of this machine quite easily and reliably(if rods are better quality) given the better pistons etc.

I hear ya! I am waiting and watching and I will be buying the Sidewinder because of the clutches as long is they get the QS3 shocks. You cannot believe how good these are now with the new shocks. The 16 with the QS3 is one of the nicest machines on the snow this past winter. Cat finally got it right on it. I just love te look of the LTX in Orange black and Grey. That should have been the cat colours but who really cares same thing anyway.

I know Jamie was raving all winter about his 16, and he is a tough guy to make happy, so coming from him is quite impressive.
I bought a pair of fox evol rc2 shocks for my 1200, but I have yet to install them since i was running my stock X setup for most the winter and it just worked really well, so i might just sell the brand new rc2s.
But now I know how incredible these kashima coated fox shocks are, and what they cost! I just love the fact the LE comes with them all the way around, and if guy are seeing upwards of 2k off MSRP, that sure is a good buy in my book! Heck Im gonna bet the new 850 from BRP wont be far behind in cost with way inferior shocks.
"If" I can justify another new sled (only got 2000kms onto my new 1200) I will be all over the RTX-SE! Love the 129" overall for my area.
It would be fun to come back to my "home" here on TY, its been awhile!

The 1200 is a stout sled and is in my mind doos best sled hands down. I talked to a couple of friends that were quoted 16800 for a 850 and 18200 for a Thundercat so not too much of a difference considering the shocks on the Thundercat some all the way around QS3's. They are costly regardless. I will wait it out and grab a leftover RT-x or Lt-X in orange, that just speaks to me!! Loving that!!

This would depend if they actually deliver them with the Kashima coat or screw you guys like they did to us with the 2015's. Specifications subject to change without notice and a big FU to those who tried to get them to make things right.
I spent the money to make mine into what they showed/listed/promised and then reneged on...

Well I do not buy it 120 mph out of the box come on!!!!
I have 2 turbo Vipers and the 15 XTX is stock motor no shim with EVO flash to pull timing and raise rev limit to 9700 RPMS. It has a MPI Stage I with 4th injector, upgraded fuel pump tons of clutch work and machining all done and tuned by Ulmer on the Dyno. It is geared at 24/46 with 8 tooth 3.0 driver with a theoretical top speed of 135.3. It dyno's at 227.5 hp at 7#'s of boost and 253.7 at 10.5#'s of boost. I never got a chance to run it at 10.5 #'s (was still in break in) but would only do 118 at 7 #'s. The 14 is still at Ulmer's being built into a monster Hoping for 360 hp and top speed in the 140's
My 15 with full compression makes a ton more hp at 7#'s than the 14 did at 9#'s after the rebuild with wiseco low compression pistons. Taking compression away lowers the gain from the turbo and also loses low rpm acceleration until the turbo spools
When my 14 was first boosted I ran with YamahaTim who had an identical setup in his LTX by the same builder (Hauck) and mine was faster from bottom to top every time we ran and back then top end was 108.
Here is my problem with his quote below:
They say they changed to a forged top gear that is nice but until this year I was running over 250 hp on the powdered metal set that came in the sled with no problems. most failures were bearing and chain failures do to them miss-printing the owners manual for setting chain tension and we all had a mess with the 14's till the reverse detent recall was implemented.
Then he states that a slide was shown how the warranty claims were greatly reduced since the 14's came out? How is this possible? maybe cause they are ignoring them? cause I can tell ya the starter failures in 15 were way more costly than the hand warmer failures and the blown motors due to factory approved turbo's was way more costly on the 16's
"Now the chain case has also been questioned – is it the same as the Viper? Yes and no. The chain case received a major redesign for the Viper to meet our QA. The spring loaded tensioner was changed to a fixed bolt adjuster, the jack shaft was changed to accept our secondary, the gear / chain supplier was changed to Borg Warner and various bearings, faces and bits addressed. For the Sidewinder, further upgrades have been made. The top gear material has changed from a powdered metal to forged machine sprockets for additional strength and the chain width is increased to 15 link (plate) from 13 link. We have had no failures during our durability and calibration testing. Zero. I didn’t attend the recent Arctic cat dealer meeting but a little birdie told me a slide was presented that showed some very significant decreases in their warranty costs since 2014. Make of that what you will. - See more at: http://snowmobiles.yamahablogs.ca/#sthash.8qPcYwGo.dpuf"
Do not get me wrong I love my Vipers and do not plan on going to anything else soon. After tons of work and $$$$ I have what I believe is one of the fastest trail sleds out there that can still play in Yellowstone powder. The 14 hopes to be one of the fastest on ice, snow and grass in 660 ft in its category and will still be trail worthy with a shock change!

Face it Steve you cant stomach the amount of jack you stuck in your sled to find out that maybe a stocker for less moola would be able to beat it...LOL.. JAB JAB.., I guess time will tell. Tim tells me he can wipe up all those Turbos with is Polaris ...

Well that may be true!! But I can tell you I have less $$$$'s in the 15 completely done even adding in the price of a the turbo and have more hp than the sidewinder, you know as well as I do there is no replacement for displacement
PS: I believe you are getting pretty close to me on the $$$'s spent category buddy

Out of the box maybe -maybe not but has the gearing and capability if clutched right my MCX 190 kit has run 127 GPS on perfect ice conditions and will run 114-117 in 1320' all on ice of course on the snow it is slower and depends on the type of snow you are running.
