Thinking about just elimating reverse? Any thoughts?

Just makes me nervous all those gears in there. Dumb idea I guess. I go pretty far north where there is no help and would hate to have it fail. I really don’t ever use it.

I like the idea for those who don’t need it, saves substantial weight and eliminate complexity. Also removing rotating mass can’t hurt driveline efficiency.

Hurricane has a replacement jackshaft available for reverse delete. There may be another simple way of holding that top sprocket?

And maybe a few miles a hour faster? Really just don’t use it. I would think one less thing to go wrong. Thanks will check into Hurricane and see.

Wow ! Belt Drive? Sounds cool any pics?
I don't have any pictures and won't be home tell next week to take any. But its specialty motorsports belt drive kit. They have a few pictures on their website.

That looks very interesting... I didn't see the kit for the Sidewinder on the website. Where does the oil tank go?

It's the 1100 cat kit. But it will only work on the 17 sidewinder without the drop and rolled chain case. The tank remains in the same place. The kit comes with a aluminum plate that bolts to the back of it.

The lower gear would be easy. Just remove reverse gear and put clip in first groove like the 2 strokes. Upper you could just make something to keep the sliding gear in forward.

Ever hear of a Poormans Locker? Slide that gear into forward and a couple tacks would be all thats needed. Only has to be as strong as the reverse actuator.
