when i saw how the actuator goes in on this, i thought of using 2 peices of flat bar to hold it in forward using the existing mount holes and weld a t onto it that holds it in forward when bolted down.

I did it on my Cat. Used a sharp edged fine and made a groove on the jack shaft. Then used a snap ring to hold the gears firmly together. Then removed all reverse parts. And maybe a few miles a hour faster? Really just don’t use it. I would think one less thing to go wrong. Thanks will check into Hurricane and see.

I would be interested in doing this because of the upper gear bushing wearing out. You really almost need a splined jackshaft and matching upper gear tho.

I’m trying a new Cat gear with three oil holes....and surprise they are drilled all the way through now. Any info if they are holding up?
They do seem to be on the Winders. 15w chain helps too.I’m trying a new Cat gear with three oil holes....and surprise they are drilled all the way through now. Any info if they are holding up?

Ok thanks Cdale, I have the 15 wide now also. So I guess I’ll run it another season and see how it looks.

They open Oneida and Vilas tomorrow morning. Down here there’s thin snow. I went to dinner in manitowish waters and they have plenty of snow! Saw the groomer tonight heading up, gave me serious wood! Trails look to be decent north of minouqua.
