Does Yamaha really care if they sell a 2019 unit?

Went by the local Yamaha dealer and there are Yamaha sleds coming out of the woodwork. And prices, a brand new 17 Winder LTX for $12,200 and a 17 Viper LTX LE for 8,999 with 5 year warranty before tax! I would imagine all dealers are getting these new allocations. Would you walk by a 17 for 12K to put money down on a 19 for 17.6K? When Yamaha decides enough is enough they mean it.

Honestly, maybe I don't follow. But I think it's always better to get rid of the older models. Right or no?

The 19's do have added value. It's up to you....buy the one that works.

Everyone is different, I'm buying my first new sled this year and it's the SRX.. already put my down payment on.

I'm looking at dealers in the area now and it seems like several have them. 17s seem the most plentiful at between 9 and 10K.

Just saying that these sleds could have been on dealer floors all winter but showed up after Power Surge was announced. Getting rid of old stock is good and Yamaha is being aggressive doing so.

Yea I agree. Crazy low pricing. Must be more out there than I thought.

I really don’t think Yamaha is planning on leaving the sled business. I think they’re putting their foot down. The big 4 all have large amounts of left over sleds and Yamaha is just smarter than the rest and getting ahead of the game by purging the left overs. I think in the next few years you will see Poo, Doo and AC doing the same thing.

You don’t see car dealerships with left over 2016’s or 2015’s. They need move them, or they go under. Same would go for snowmobiles.

Just like cars sleds go to Auction and the dealers snap them up but Yamaha limits when and how many they can grab throughout the year.. thats how some dealers have them late at blow out prices.

That makes sense. More floor plan risk, but at a significant reduction of dealer cost on the books.

I was coming back from the UP yesterday and was driving past a dealer, outside was several crates of unsold Ski Doo's. It is a industry wide issue, low snow, and the sleds lasting a lot longer then they use to. This back pile of unsold Yamaha sleds are not being built and sent to dealers, they are reshuffled to other dealers that have more of a chance to unload them.
