How does the engine brake effect when letting go of the throttle on the Viper XTX compare to the Nytro XTX more or less?
Do you find yourselves using the hand brake more or less on the Viper?

i come from an apex. hardly used the hand brake on that or my viper xtx, both were long tracks and fairly decent lugs. 1.5 and 1.6 now. not sure how the nytro was.

When the belt was right I would say the Nytro XTX was very aggressive, unless chasing close or stopping I hardly ever used the hand brake.

When I demo the viper the first thing I noticed was how much better it free rolled when you let off the gas. Nitro had far more engine braking. Too much IMO...

The viper also gets better after a 1000 miles or so as well.
Can't recall the Nytro but compared to Phazer there if way less engine braking. I use my brake a lot. Not complaining at all either. I prefer no engine braking since it can upset the chassis if not dealt with and it is not as smooth as well applied brake.

Had a nytro mtx and had a viper xtx and ltx for a test ride. There was noticeably less engine braking in the vipers. Don't know if the longer, deeper lug track would slow the mtx down more but could possibly.

Just picked up my Viper XTX last Saturday but I drove my wife's last year and would say engine braking is vertually identical.
