No im just going to ride mine and I hope it does not crack and wait till Gene contacts me on what they are going to do, I'm not sending mine back now unless they send me a new one that will not contact or touch the head or heat shield. But I have the new style so something must be wrong with the QC. Did you get yours from White Knuckel ?Ya that is true they should cover it but will they lol. What are you going to do with yours? Ya I know it sucks, season is already short enough, really isn't time to be screwing around with these headers. Ya I ordered mine from Gene when I had my ecu flashed.

I wasn't able to check emails today but any issues will be dealt with, that is not in question. I'm not sure if Jim has seen this as he's on here about as often as I am, but I'm sure Nos Pro has filled him in. I'll have to check mine I put on my 30-30 project. It was good when we installed it but haven't checked since and it's somewhere by Revy right now. It also has the Evo bullet on it so I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

Yes, I contacted Jim right away and got him to contact trevorl1 immediately.
My header was the very first and no issues whatsoever...but was the prototype to get fixture setup and testing done.
I feel bad for issues that have come up.... and working with Jim, all I can do is apologize as I should have been more involved when another members header had a fitment issue. I gave that member Jim's personal number and maybe that is where I went wrong. I should have been just contacted Jim and stuck with it....but with all going on with racing and life, I was the middle-man and when I didn;t hear anything since....I thought the issue was resolved. But it wasn't. Never want to see bad feelings between a vendor/advertiser here and if I was not involved as much as I should have been, I personally apologize. Jim, and everyone at EVO are working so hard to fill orders and get product out....but maybe some Quality Control was missed. I do not work directly for EVO, but do run their products and back them up 100% with the products I am using....so I do inform Jim of what is going on here on the site because I believe in his products and racing with EVO's help, my Viper rocks and performs like I want it to.

Well put in a full day today, when I left it wasn't touching the cover and now it's tight against it, back to the shop tomorrow to try and make it fit. I don't have time to send it back.
I can say that the header for sure makes power. My rpms went up about 200.

I don't like the sounds of that. I think I was one of the original people to report about there header hitting the valve cover like a month ago, the only answers I got were it's a pretty close fit, I was able to get a 1/4" gap between header and valve cover. Havent started the sled at all yet going on my first ride this weekend. If that headers touching the engine I will be pissed, since there would of been a month to resolve the issue since I first noticed it. I don't have time to rip the whole sled apart to monkey around with this header. Super disappointed to have to spend $1100 plus tax on this header to be having these kinds of issues.

To our customers who have and issue with clearance at the valve cover:
Please contact us via email techsupport@evopowersports.com. We arrange for shipping to have the issue corrected and sent back to you asap. We apologize for the inconvenience.
With respect to tunnel protectors - We had one customer out of hundreds have an issue with studs hitting the header last year. There could be a number of reasons why, including a loose track, etc. So we put out a recommendation to add extra height to the tunnel protectors if you are going to run really long studs.

No one wants to go thru the pain in the #*$&@ of a part not fitting as it should. At the time you voiced your concern there wasn't anyone confirming that after riding it would touch. I haven't sold a 100 of these or anything but I also haven't been contacted from anyone else that has one from this year about an issue. You and Bruce are the only ones, and Bruce didn't notice his right away either. Until there is a confirmed problem there isn't anything to do. Unfortunately you haven't had the opportunity to ride it to confirm a problem in the month you have had it, if you would have, it would have been dealt with then. Now it is a known problem and it is being handled as quickly as possible. It's less than ideal, but we don't even know what the root of the problem might be, but it's getting dealt with.

Just heading home from my sled trip north, after a 100 miles my header is touching the valve cover. Before I started riding had about 1/4" clearance.

Spoke to Jim Thursday January 28 and he said they are going to correct the fitment issues by giving us new headers and that the header will clear cylinder head cover and stud issues. I will be sending mine back after the season is done.Just heading home from my sled trip north, after a 100 miles my header is touching the valve cover. The problem is the slip joint expansion and header melting head shield. So having spoke to him I believe Jim @EVO will look after everyone with header issues.

Ya I hope so!! I will have to contact him to and see what he says. I won't be sending mine back until after the riding season, already have trips planned. Do you think it could damage the valve cover?

Do you have a number to reach Jim at? I emailed the address provided and received a response but this is not going to work out for me. There was no mention of sending out a new header. The email said I basically have 2 options send the header back now so they can fix it and send it back or send it in after the season and any damage done to the valve cover they will not cover. The problem is I'm in Ontario Canada so by the time I send it back and then have it sent back to me it's going to be like 3 weeks, so my whole snowmobile season will be shot and I'm leaving for a big sled trip in 7 days. I have no clue what to do. At this point I would rather just have my money back, they can have this header and do whatever they want with it and I will just order a header from hurricane and hope to get it before I leave, but when you email evo it takes a while to receive a response and every number I call on there site I can't get ahold of anyone it's always asking to leave a message.
I feel for ya. It would be nice to have the correct piece in hand so you can do the job all at the same time especially since the old header will probably just be scrapped anyhow.
