On the softest setting they are soft and work well. Have not tried any of the other settings yet. Would compare it with the R Motion in my 1200 x.and just another question, how stiff are the QS-3R's....thanks

Haven't done much testing on the shocks, but I have them all set on #2 and seems really smooth. When you turn them to 3 you can barely push down on the front end of the sled. Make sure you check your rebound settings when you get it from the dealer. My rebound settings where way out of wack

Just for comparison I pulled out my 2016 PRO S 800 to see what it would do on the same road.
112 mph on GPS.
The distance I am running is around 2000 ft. I ran 116 mph last year on ice with this sled.

^^ Just wondering how much different these two sleds feel? The Poo is a true lightweight, did you get much seat time in snow or trail conditions to get a feel for it? Im anxious more to hear about handling on the SW then anything else as I know the speed/power will be had easily.
thnx

They are different. You sit higher on the poo which I find more comfortable. With upgraded coil over shocks properly adjusted and c&a skis on my viper it handled very well. Was it As easy to put it through the tight and twisties as my pro s?? No, but very close with little more body English. My 2012 and 2013 etecs were the same as the poo. Just buy and ride with minimal adjustments needed
Will this sidewinder handle any better than my viper? I don't think so but the only thing I had to add to the winder is skis. Shocks and turbo are factory so it's as turn key as any yamaha I have ever owned since my Srx!!

Well you could be right about tapping out at 123, but i'm thinking higher. It wasn't over revving when it was 125/126 on the speedo.
Here is pic of the primary. Still some overdrive to have I think.

With the stock gearing you would already have had to be in a full 10% overdrive to run 119mph at that RPM....that's about it for old style Yamaha clutches...maybe the new clutches on the Sidewinder will overdrive more?

thanks for input on the QS3-R, not the regular QS3... .mutch different. last year some guys had them on their Arctic cat zr9000 and the R' s where way too stiff, and the QS3 regulars where too easy to bottom out.. the rebound adjustment is really a big plus and more if they have been revalved as the rumors go..

on my qs3's that came on my LTX-LE the rear skid shock only has a knife blade style rebound adjustment, not a know that anyone can get at easy,so I don't see many adjusting this setting, and the location of the adjuster is at such an angle good luck,do you or anyone else who has these shocks in the past think this rebound needs to be adjusted. Is the factory setting that bad,the only other shocks from Yamaha I have had with remout rebound adjustments was all of my apex GT's.
