First week with the sidewinder

I estimate around 1,6litres per 10km so take that and convert to non-metric. IF you want exact Numbers I am going to refuel this week.
Thank you so much . Before guys start saying if you can afford the sled than you can afford the gas, your right , I can but it's nice to know how far you can get on a tank of gas . Thanks again , Johan.

You guys figure out the liters per km's while I investigate this "Takk" saying. He could be ranking on us. LOL. With only 11 posts, he's still a rookie. BTW, can you post every 12 minutes for us...

Haha, nothing else than a little friendly chat with a fellow scandinavian member who liked my sled. :)

Anyways, after a couple of hours on a different surface, hard packed snow, and milder temperatures here in Skellefteå, it was somewhat of another sled that appeared. It handles the trail excellent and it doesn't twitch the handlebar or pulls sideways in any way. It feels like a rocket along the trail and I can honestly say that I really like it! It pulls hard and goes straight without any seriously darting and it seems that the engine braking is a lot less than my Apex. The only thing I'm concerned about right now is if I'm going to overshoot a turn and end up in the trees due to excessive use of my righthand thumb... It wants to be pushed and driven at high speeds. (or maybe that's just me lol)

It takes corners good and explodes out of them IF you want it to. Braking was a bit tricky and was the only Times I felt a little bit more "unsafe" compared to the Apex. Maybe it is just that i go faster on the sidewinder, I don't really know or perhaps it is due to the lack of enginebraking? The grip during acceleration was quite good as far as I can tell (41mm lugs) but you Will certainly have no trouble spinning the lugs if you want to. I am truly impressed with the gearing and you will notice hos smooth it is compared to a viper or even the Apex.

Johan, I don't know if you realize how many minds you are truly blowing right now! There are thousands of yamaha owners staring at grass and living through your words.

I can speak for the group here, more pics of mere mortals riding that sled would be appreciated. Not factory guys on prototypes in perfect snow. Video would be even cooler. I think most imagine a helmet cam shot of that animal launching on a semi flat surface. It may just put a few of these guys over the edge for sure!

keep up the reports!

Keep the updates coming..really enjoying your feedback..and yes we would love pics and video.

...not my proudest moment this season! ;)
