Just curious because I just had the flash done as well. Takes two times to start. First time it cranks and fires up but kills instantly whether I let the fuel pump cycle or not. Second time it fires right up. Idle hunt is 30-40 rpm. Garage is insulated and is 51F.
The thing I am curious about is after my flash the digital readout of the intake temperature and the coolant temperature is no longer there!!??? It only has the bar graph and no digital readout??
Mine started and idled fine previously but only has 535 miles on it. I decided to have the flash done because I bought it left over and have no warranty anymore. My thinking is with this being stated as a "fix" for the starter kick back and if I were not to do it and lose a stater they could deny fixing it under warranty??? I believe the starter issue is a warranty issue even if the sled warranty has run out???
Oh well hopefully all is well if if I have issues this winter I will buy a PCV and put it on. The one on my Harley works great so I'm sure it will be fine on here as well.
Over the summer I have installed the Ulmer quiet can and Ulmer airbox mod as well as a Bikeman clutch kit but it should run fine with no PCV based on this forum and from what Allen Ulmer has stated in emails.

By cranking twice I mean the engine turns over a couple times before finally firing and idling. Granted I've only started my sled once so maybe mine will die as well?? Will see tomorrow!
As far as your digital read outs go, you'll just have to put them back on, no big deal. The flash would have reset to it default (no temp read outs). And yes with just a muffler, intake and clutch you have no reason for a fuel controller yet.

Geez I feel dumb now!!! After reading your post (default) I remembered you have to hold the button for the digital readout to be displayed. Thanks for that!! Just ran out to the garage and changed it.

Same thing here on my 2016 Ltx-Le but I have found that we don't need to wait for injection cycle ending before to turn the key... Now it start like my video everytime!

It's reving high, atleast compared to my 16 ltx le. Was it bone cold or started earlier.

Perefect. Is yours an early build? My sled definatly kicks back. I've always held the key ahead and it just rolls through it.Bone cold... rev high at startup then lowering to 1500 after mabe 30 sec... I have a 2016 Ltx-Le also...

My dealer told me the flash is only for the kickback issue. And to leave the 02 sensor.

Just disconnect O2 sensor and see if you get a code. If no code it was eliminated.Got the flash done a few hours ago. Only ran it at the dealer for a bit and then when I unloaded it off the trailer. I'm going to let it sit in the garage for the night and day tomorrow then check/record it starting when I'm home from work.
Just starting it and unloading off the trailer, I found no difference in AFF readings. It did crank over a couple times before firing where before this flash it would fire as soon as I hit the key(letting ignition cycle and cold engine). I don't care if it has to take a couple revolutions initially to start. To me it started smoother than normal (cranked a couple more times yes, but was a smoother starter engagement, engine firing and initial idling). As I said though I will get better cold, hot start and idling info tomorrow.
On a side note I ask my dealer about the flash. All he could answer is it is out for the hard start / kick back issue. I asked if the O2 circuit was involved with this flash, he said no.
I'll do some testing like the above video clip as well. Before, with a cold engine I would let it cycle before cranking. When hot I wouldn't give it time to think at all before cranking. See if it's any different now. And hey, worse comes to worse if this flash doesn't help it really...EVO it is next season.
Maybe you neighbours to the south will have to trailer your sleds up here for the flash LOL

Good point! I'll do that when I'm out there later today!
Ok so starting the sled in the garage a few minutes ago, it cranked over a couple times then fired. Stumbled a slight bit and idled out. I unplugged the O2 sensor while running (I'm assuming the 4 wire plug one coming put of the larger main loom) and no CEL. I contunied to run to get warm and watch my AFR readings on my gauge. Once hot I shut it off and let it sit a few mins and started again. Started the same as cold just no stumble....and still no CEL on. I'm heading out to go back to the same dealer for a no tax black Friday sale lol. I will review my go pro videos and monitor AFR numbers vs rpm at an idle as soon as I can.
I'm going to mention to him about the 02 sensor unplugging. I'm assuming it would throw the code as soon as I unplugged it no?

Mine did after I forgot to plug it in after I installed the turbo!

My AEM AFR is still reading correctly so I'm assuming I unplugged the factory one

It would very quickly throw a code. That answers the question. O2 sensor was totally disabled and is now just excess wieght that will be quickly ruined if run without power to the heater circuit in it. If there is ever a need to enable it in future I suggest removal and find a short bolt and copper washer to plug the hole. The lights all just flash for less than a second when key is turned to on. I am sure the guage light is fine.My AEM AFR is still reading correctly so I'm assuming I unplugged the factory oneI doubt my CEL is burnt out. Anyway to do a gauge/light test on these old girls?

Tried just a few mins ago. My temp light and high beam light do not light up at all apon turning ignition on. My CEL light and low fuel ever so faintly, and I mean faintly flash for like a millisecond when turning ignition on. Is that normal or no? I don't remember my lights ever coming on with the ignition to be honest. Is there something I can unplug that will immediately illuminate my CEL?
