Where did you get your flash done Cooper? I'm looking for a place that's not to busyJust started mine up. +1 in my garage. Fired up instantly again...idle is the same jumping up and down from 1450-1500 once warmed up. I'll keep updating as weather gets colder.
Bruce can do it. He confirmed all with rep. Just update tool and flash away!I'm all out of butter for my popcorn here.....so getting the corn hulls out of my throat......
I am waiting to get my sled flashed (with my spare ECU) so I can do some testing since my sled is still setup for asphalt. I have the POD300 to record afr's before and after the flash. How it starts and runs.

There is no flash update yet. I just had mine at the dealership. They hooked it up and called Yamaha directly. The flash is not ready for release.

Dealer updated his diag tool while I was there. An ECU flash appears. It does not say anything about what it does so he called Yamaha. He was told the flash had not been changed since 2015. For what it's worth................ Of course the CAT letter indicates something new may be out there?Once again not officially
Then just wait till Yamaha gets their act together. Might be a long wait!Dealer updated his diag tool while I was there. An ECU flash appears. Same response I'm gettingI've been proactive trying to get this reflash for my sled to avoid having it in the shop again during the snowmobile season. I've talked with several dealers here in Michigan (several who are very tech savy), suggested for them to update their YDST (Yamaha Dealer Service Tool), even talked with Yamaha's customer service; as far as anyone here knows, there is no reflash out yet. Very discouraging.

They are letting Canada and Sweden dealers be the lab rats for the new flash. I had mine in for a preseason warranty once over and was still on the fence about having the flash updated done. My dealer mech insisted that I should have it done on my 16 STX. I had never had a single issue but I allowed him to do it. I took video of it idling before and after, its the exact same. It did take 2 turns of the key to start, it never did before. I have started it again and has started first turn of the key since.
YDS in USA still says nothing sooo if it does in Canada and Sweden then yes you and the Arctic Cats are either Lab Rats or Yamaha is really unorganized. We may never know which but it sure doesnt help Customer relations.

Everyone in Sweden has received a letter from Yamaha Scandinavia about the flash.

Well you guys have snow so it makes sense. They can always make another if this doesn't work. Thanks to those who have done the flash.

Same thing here on my 2016 Ltx-Le but I have found that we don't need to wait for injection cycle ending before to turn the key... Now it start like my video everytime!Funny thing with my sled since the new flash is it takes two attempts to start the sled a lot of times.Maybe its nothing but It didn't do this before but I didn't own the sled for long either.

Got the flash done a few hours ago. Only ran it at the dealer for a bit and then when I unloaded it off the trailer. I'm going to let it sit in the garage for the night and day tomorrow then check/record it starting when I'm home from work.
Just starting it and unloading off the trailer, I found no difference in AFF readings. It did crank over a couple times before firing where before this flash it would fire as soon as I hit the key(letting ignition cycle and cold engine). I don't care if it has to take a couple revolutions initially to start. To me it started smoother than normal (cranked a couple more times yes, but was a smoother starter engagement, engine firing and initial idling). As I said though I will get better cold, hot start and idling info tomorrow.
On a side note I ask my dealer about the flash. All he could answer is it is out for the hard start / kick back issue. I asked if the O2 circuit was involved with this flash, he said no.
I'll do some testing like the above video clip as well. Before, with a cold engine I would let it cycle before cranking. When hot I wouldn't give it time to think at all before cranking. See if it's any different now. And hey, worse comes to worse if this flash doesn't help it really...EVO it is next season.
Maybe you neighbours to the south will have to trailer your sleds up here for the flash LOL
