Flash Update Coming Fall-2016

Funny thing with my sled since the new flash is it takes two attempts to start the sled a lot of times.Maybe its nothing but It didn't do this before but I didn't own the sled for long either.

That happened to many in Sweden as well...

Hmm, I'm getting mine flashed Thursday afternoon. Will pick their brains on what the flash is actually containing/doing to see if they tell me anymore than just "hard start fix". Knock on wood my sled has only had 2 kick backs since I've owned it and a few hard start (prolonged cranking) situations. RPM at idle fluctuates 50-100rpm depending on outdoor conditions.

I've GoPro'd my sled cranking, starting and idling cold as well as cranking/starting and idling hot (while also recording AFR numbers at same time). The sled is in my garage at 15* Celsius. Will be interesting to see if this flash changes anything. The air temp in the garage compared to outside might also hinder any changes. Time will tell!

Just do the comparo in your garage. Perfect. You are definitly prepared. Thank you!

See Arctic Cat uses thier dealer system. Cat Tracker. Same thing as YDS. If they are now just emailing thats another step right down the tubes. Hundred or maybe even thousands of emails go through a dealer every day. Please dont tell me that they are counting on a email to keep dealers informed! I prefer to let my always glass half full mind tell me they are letting the Cat guys be the test dummies but my glass has been tipping lately....
I checked with me dealer last week and they said they didn't know about the flash. when I was there they checked threw the e-mails and found a e-mail with the bulletin about the flash. So I would say a lot of these emails are getting missed. Best thing to do is get them to put your vin # in and it well show up as a service bulletin as mine did.

The guy performing the flash on our sleds yesterday said he actually goes in to work early (about a half hour) to check and go through all the emails that yamaha sends them. That's my kind of dealer! The email has been sent, just comes down to whether or not they're checking emails.

I've called numerous dealers in the past about parts, general questions etc and most of them have no clue. So it's no suprise to me. Even the dealer I bought my sled from had no idea about it...

YOU HAVE TO GET THIS FLASH DONE, OTHERWISE YOUR NOT COVERED SHOULD STARTER PROBLEMS OCCUR! EVEN IF YOUR SITTING ON THE FENCE ABOUT THE FLASH, JUST GO GET IT DONE.

Yesterday had a dealer run my VIN nothing came up so who knows for sure.

I've been proactive trying to get this reflash for my sled to avoid having it in the shop again during the snowmobile season. I've talked with several dealers here in Michigan (several who are very tech savy), suggested for them to update their YDST (Yamaha Dealer Service Tool), even talked with Yamaha's customer service; as far as anyone here knows, there is no reflash out yet. Very discouraging.

So my guess is it's not available in the US yet..hope you guys get it resolved asap!

Just started mine up. +1 in my garage. Fired up instantly again...idle is the same jumping up and down from 1450-1500 once warmed up. I'll keep updating as weather gets colder.

Yep same here.
My dealer sells all 4 brands. They have the flash and bulletin for Cat and are aware of the flash for Yamaha.
They've been calling Yamaha weekly. Still no flash yet.

Bismarck ND Valley Marine, says they checked there email, updated there tool... no update as of yet.... looks like a long road of no answers...

I'm all out of butter for my popcorn here.....so getting the corn hulls out of my throat......

I am waiting to get my sled flashed (with my spare ECU) so I can do some testing since my sled is still setup for asphalt. I have the POD300 to record afr's before and after the flash. How it starts and runs.
