Full Season Original Belt

Have followed your posts and realize that you have the uncoupled suspension on your model,,, but but but, what a difference. WOW.

If you can do that on hole shots, what does it do over hills once turned on?

Cat walks downhill....LOL

Lots of throttle control

I do have EVO stage 4 and a couple other EVO trinkets on the winder. But I could tail stand my N/A Viper like that also.

I have seen the cat walks down hill and its sight to see. lol. Awesome!

I just blew my first belt on my turbo viper that @NOS-PRO and @shagman set up for me 3 seasons ago!! My riding is not easy on belts so I was very impressed that 8dn lasted that long but I contribute that to proper clutch setup thanks to the clutching experts.

Thanks guys. ;)!

Who buys a 205 HP muscle sled to drive like someone grandmother. I dont beat my sled but I would like to run 80 on a wide open straight flat railroad bed in northern Maine once in a while I would like to even go full throttle but I dont dare to in fear that I only can carry one extra belt with me. 2500 miles and 5 belts.

You have to ride with Nos Pro to know both how Safety conscious and yet able to Tail stand regularly or hit high triple digits , then go slow in the deep were others blow through fast 2/2 fear of getting stuck (me) to understand- I'd bet 100$ this was just a 'routine' yet safe move between the trees and sleds and no one who rides with Terry would even bat an eye of concern for his or their safety.

I just blew my first belt on my sidewinder. I bought it with 1000 miles on it and have no idea if the dealer put a new belt on it or not. I have not been at all easy on the belt I just rode it like the high performance machine it is. After all that is what I bought it for. I put 900 miles on it this year ( terrible year ). Now if the belt has 1900 miles on it I am okay with that but if it was a new belt and it only lasted 900 miles I am not okay with that. lots of belt dust from that 8jp. Lon (thunder products)convinced me to try a gates carbon fiber one and that is what I put on to replace the 8jp. when it blew I was running on the lake doing wide open runs. I was able to hit 127 with the wind and 121 against the wind but was perfect conditions flat smooth ice with about 1 inch of crusty snow on top. The belt blew into a few hundred pieces but the strings were intact and still on both clutches. the primary clutch had rubber scuff marks all over the outside of it never had a sled look like that after a belt blow. I was on the 9-10th run for the day. I was able to touch the clutches no problem to put the new belt on. my top speed went down to 117 against the wind the run before and was just creeping to 121 with the wind when it let go. I didn't have a second spare with me so I didn't do anymore top speed runs. Machine is 100% out of the box stock as far as tune and clutching. I have a reverse angle helix and orange spring to put on but have yet to do it. I am concerned this was a new belt and all the belt dust was it just wearing down all season till it hit its limit. also concerned with the rubber scuffs on the outside of primary. I have heard of belts climbing out of the primary and with the speeds I was seeing is it possible that happened to mine?

No’s-Pro, Do not know how you do that, but very impressive especially for a Sidewinder.

There is no way that my LTX-LE could do that.

Hell, I need to find a hill and hit that at 100 just to get it to fly over, and then it likes to stay flat. No lifting skis on mine even over hills, maybe 4-6” with limiters all the way out and transfer bar removed!!

Looks like crazy fun to me.

BTX model 141” uncoupled?

Your belt did not climb out from the top of your primary with a 100% stock clutch.

Stock clutches leave a 1/4” of sheave at very top of clutch, that does not see the belt.
Both of my blown belts did the same to my primary. Just use a scotch-brite pad on it. It will look almost good as new.

I would break down your clutches just to make sure no belt debris or pieces are stuck in either also.

My primary clutch was machined a bit for some added overdrive and it still leaves about an 1/8” from the top(unused clutch). Have had it spinning at 133 on speedo for a pretty long duration (22 top gear)on ice and the belt did not climb out, so I really doubt that your stock primary allowed your belt to do that.

Not saying that it still does not SUCK,( blowing belts), but hope you are getting some mileage on them!
Blew my first one at 1100, sled was 100% stock. Had a Dealer install his package TD 245 tune at 1400 and at 22?? My second belt blew. So mine seems to like that 1100 mile mark. First belt saw 500 easy break in mileage, second belt, well I enjoy the power, much like yourself ! Now at 2900 and waiting until the next time.. mine seems to be kinda in the middle of that belt mileage thing.

Much better then what I can get.
RTX?
Hole shot?

Rtx. That’s was a hole shot. It was doing that from any speed that day. Rear spring and shock on full soft, sharpened studs and 1 chisel per bar. 290 tune.

6,000 miles on first (factory) belt. Decided to change belt proactively.
1,500 miles so far on second belt.
7,500 miles on 2017 LTX-LE.

No blown belts... I ride conservatively, but a lot of miles.

It's just a 141 XTX SE....yes, uncoupled.

The sled is a hoot! Same as my Viper...which is an XTX also. ;)!

Thank you for responding. I sure hope this belt had 1900 and not 900 but I guess time will tell.
