I still have motor mounts from the old sled. If I could I want to get a 600cc 2 stroke in there! It then would be the most awesome thing ever.

Hey Cannondale27 I have an 07 MTX with the 17 tooth gearing and love it. The clutch is stock and I have one of the lower elevation weights in it along with the 14" X 144" X 1.75" Back Country track. The snap of the throttle from low to mid is tasty and on top is ok. The dream meter reports 79 mph on hard pack trail and 45 mph in the deep stuff climbing.
I have a 17t on order.Sounds like way to go.
17t in and I am likeing it alot just playing in ditches and field!Feels like 10hp.Will get some trail/river riding in and let you know how I like it long term.

17T gear is in. Was actually fairly easy work. Will have my clutches back from Chris Schmidt this week. I will be watching Rob's thread on performance results.
Just got back from one heck of a fun little ride. Our trails are really nice. and I am really liking little extra snap from gear.I am hitting 11,500 and 83mph on dreammeter.I had to change belts to get 11,500.Other one is a bit low in secondary. No rivets in Ulmer wieghts.I think I have kind of reached a turning point with sled.I had SRX out last 2 times and love the speed and handling but I really do have much more fun with the Phazer just different.Tightened the front shock springs a bit and although tippier it can just be driven right into the knarliest holes and wheelied out of them.It is what it is.FUN!

I'm thinking of giving machined clutches a try and going back to the 17t on my MTX, that would be the equivalent of installing a 15t on a short track It was VERY snappy with a 17t but the clutches shifted out fully at only 70mph GPS. She was beating my bro-in-laws Etec 600 in short races, he couldn't touch me under 60mph. Just changing to 19t got me to the 80mph gps mark, but I no longer can beat him in a short race, I stay ski to ski until 60mph and then watch him pull away.

I've been thinking of gearing up my 07 FX with McExpress Turbo. I have clutched it as heavy as I can with the Heavy Hitters I bought and it doesn't over-rev anymore but is soft off of the bottom. I think gearing a little taller and taking some weight out of the clutch could get back a little of the snap that is missing now off the bottom.
