this Viper drinks fuel like its water,, and is very very slow, i topped off at 75MPH,,, RPM's were at 8500
is these things that tight and get better? i have about 280 miles.
I have most parts for clutching on the cheap but man oh man what a start!! not loving it yet.
OH its a LTX thats actually rode nice.

Give it some time... MPG will be around 14 and it will be in the high 80s to 90.

My buddy's XTX didn't really wake up till almost 1000 miles. His will now run low 90s.

I could only do 90 once after that with the stock setup I could do 80. I have an xtx. This year with ulmers kit I'm hoping to stay consistent... Mpg umm what's that lol. I honestly have no clue what I get. I know the 600 doos need to fill up before me and we ride fairly decent.

remember your mph is actually true so when it breaks in and you see 90 it would be like 100 on a nytro. and everyone was happy with seeing 100 on the nytro. i run a turbo and see 11-14 mpg. do the clutching and get some skid wheels.

I have hit 103 with mine. Gas mileage isn't as good as my nitro.

Yeah I'm coming off a Nytro xtx and I'd have to say I am disappointed in the performance of the Viper. I figured it would be at least a tad bit quicker/faster than the Nytro just for the simple fact it weighs less. IMO, it turns out that the Nytro is a true 700 class sled where the Viper is a 600 class sled. My bud has an 09 fx nitro rtx se so I have a direct comparison or baseline to compare. My wife has a 2010 Vector ltx and I am afraid to race her..lol. Although, I do absolutly love the Viper/Cat chassis and the bright spot is this Viper chassis outperforms the Nytro chassis in ergos, handling and in the bumps.

I have about 550 miles on my 15 viper ltx DX. I got 84 on the lake according to the gps, so I think I'm doing okay. With prem gas I got 14 mpg, but only 11-12 on th regular gas. Not sure if it's the gas or the riding conditions that caused me to burn more fuel. That was bumpy trail riding and lake riding mixed.

they geared the viper down so its faster off the line and corner to corner, but MPG will be worse at the same speeds as a nytro. not very happy about that, may gear mine up. i loved the nytro XTX gearing and clutching. altho i may have out west clutching in a east coast sled on that nytro. very linear engagement.

If you are talking XTX to XTX the gearing is exactly the same, the Viper XTX is actually slightly faster because the 8 tooth 3 in drivers are 3/8 of an in. larger diameter than 2.52 9 tooth drivers on the Nytro.
Whats your fuel milage is the same question as How long is a piece of string.

Even though like many I want more the Viper is no 600 class sled. When I was racing that 7000 this weekend there was a twin spar f 6 lined up right with us. Mid track was easily 4-5 sled lengths ahead. Never lost never was even close

Alright, I'll take back the 600 class sled opinion...but its no more than a 675 class sled because it was a tad bit behind the Nytro, lol. I don't know...maybe it was because my clutching was off last year at the time we lined them up (only running 8700rpm) as he was getting me 1-2 sled lengths in the mid the last we ran them. It was when we first added the 8dn and just didn't have it right. I was topping out at 93mph on a long run which isn't bad but it was doggish in the mid. We think we have it dead on now but still no snow to test this year to find out for sure. We'll see...
Huge dif between 8700 and 9100 especially stock. You will beat him I bet.
