I haven't had a issue with heat of muffler at all.
Is yours touching the rubber at the bottom of the exhaust opening like mine?
You guys deserve it. RPM on my sled was right on the $ with that setup untouched. So obviously there is no difference motorwise between mine and NosPros motors they are obviously very close. Others may disagree with the Lexus statement. So be it. I have found over the years that a smooth setup especially at launch is faster when conditions arent perfect. When I am done with adding mods I have no doubt I will do this setup again for now I am going to go with Studroes weights because they are so easy to change and are close to COC for smooth engagement and drivability. I want to keep trying for the power needed to pull the Ulmer Helix. NosPro will chime in on the Helix I used on his clutches. So conclusion for today for me is since I want to have something left of the $ I spent already is:Thank you very much! Having that kit validated by someone with your expertise means a lot, thanks again!
Orange Yellow Orange Primary
Studroes weights
Stock Pink secondary spring machined or shimmed secondary 3-3 wrap
Ulmer K Helix
None of the setups are cheap and all have some negatives. So far without a doubt for me the setup I used from Nos Pros sled is best.

I never looked. I dont think it matters. Nothing caught on fire! I will look once I get it out of trailer.
Cannondale and other Excell cold air intake users. After you installed them your rpms came up some so did you all have to add weight to primary? Just wondering how much chasing this mod around to get dialed back in?
Missed this. Yes you will have to add weight to Primary. Add it to the tip. 9250 is where rev limiter will hit if you did factory reflash if not it will hit sooner and kill all power. Get as close to that as possible. 9000-9249 is a range that is acceptable any less=Boring sled

Thank you
Very impressed how mine and Cannodale's sled were perfect on RPM's between the 2. This is going from my XTX 153" 2 1/4" paddle track viper with 1,000 miles less than Cannondale's viper, to his shorty viper
Was great riding and testing with you! Always will be that way!

Yes and agree. Sled feels most spirit in the 9000 RPM range.
Mine spins 8950-9150.

Good post cannondale, so a little recap, with the cotc setup it's using 46/40 helix and ulmers is 49/41? Was there any real speed or more importantly in my book, acceleration changes from one setup to the other? Would've been a great test to see what your fine tuned ulmer setup would've done when completely switched and used on nospros sled, would've given a good indication of what the different setups do under different circumstances (sled setups).

Cannondale what were your final magnet settings on the magnaforce weights? Just curious how much it varied from stock sled settings. Won't be a true reading as I used more aggressive helix but should be close

I had the clutches sitting right there and I should have put them on and tried that setup on my sled.
Yes, the COTC is using a 46/40 helix now as the 45/39 I used last year was hard to get...not many producing that angle (weird).
Our rivers are safe here now so there will be some more testing soon.
I will let cannondale talk about acceleration between the setups, but in my opinion when I rode his with the other setup I felt more pull from my sled with the COTC.....just my .02

The other setup used a 49/41 helix? Can't remember now if that's correct or not..been so many different numbers thrown around here in the last couple months.

Anyone running our clutch kit on a RTX or LTX with a 1.25" track. Your settings should be as follows.
Primary Spring: OPO
Heel: Tungsten insert , 1 screw + 2 thin washers, 1 o-ring, and 1 screw
Mid: Empty
Tip: 1 thin washer, 1 o-ring, 1 screw
Secondary spring: Red @ 6-2 or Pink @ 6-1 (depending if you have last years clutch kit or this years)
Helix: K
This setup will be very close for anyone in that 180 to 250 lbs rider weight with an intake kit and exhaust can.
An XTX weight setup will be very similiar, but it will use a "H" helix instead of "K" helix.
If you have any tuning questions on your clutch kit, call us, we will gladly help you! 605-387-2833

I tried that setup allen it was boring at 8500 rpm and the tight wind on your new secondary spring caused inconsistancy and belt dust even with the 8DN. It does not work unless you never hold it tight. Why not just specify what rpm your clutching should run at? Some people may like it.

As delivered Studroes. Hit rpm perfectly.

The tight wind on the secondary is not any more pounds than the stock secondary spring, checked using a fish scale. RPM needs to be 8750 to 9100 rpm depending on conditions. Hard pack it will spin more RPM than in loose snow conditions.
With over 300 + SR Viper clutch kits out on the snow, 99% have been happy. Those who had any questions or concerns I have helped and been happy to answer any and all questions. Your Ulmer Racing setup was modified by you, which is fine, anyone can make adjustments, I will gladly help out anyone who is not comfortable with making adjustments on their own. I posted a desired setup above, I have not tested it directly with the Excell intake & muffler, but have tested it on 3 other exhaust setups and our own intake kit.
