Hot starting or not starting

Although it seems I got a good one I dont have good news. The idle and fuel ratio is totally controlled by the IACV and it by the ECU. is not really anything a guy can do. No adjustment unless Throttlebodies are out of sync?

i want my dampers in stiff shocks so the chassis not going to fall apart riding like brick

No one knows anything more than the cat guys in TRF working on this. The kicker is the nytro worked perfectly mapping wise why did they let cat screw it up. I hate to be overly critical here but cat has screwed up a lot on these sleds. Many of you guys are even falling for it and being tolerant of the leaking antifreeze, stripped bolts, chain case issues etc. I am not tolerant of this bs on a 13,000 machine. Its a joke any way you slice it.

I really just hope they get some mapping sorted out to make it start, the rest of the sled we can work with and its coming around.

TRF...yeah right good luck with a bunch of Zuk guys figuring it out. Why not just use Nytro mapping?

I know there is no adjustment at all not even a small air bypass bleed or anything. I do not believe its anything other than bad mapping. I also believe its sensor dependent. Because it throws a crank sensor code half the time I don't think they have the scaling right on the crank position sensor, or it won't let it start at times depending on the position of the crank position sensor. At any rate would this not have come up during testing? I heard of them stalling and stuff during testing. If you blip the throttle on ours 2 or 3 times it will stall aswell.

Just starts right up don't let the you will fuel pump load ,to be honest with you guys my 2003 RX-1 starts up better and it's carbureted :-o

Sorry to hear about all the issues. My dealer was really pushing a Viper on me last Friday. I know this is an Arctic Cat with a Yamaha motor but I've got to say I'm really puzzled by the attitude that Yamaha has stellar reliability and the other brands are junk. I've owned other brands and have ridden for years, I'm not seeing this whole "more reliable" aspect other than a 4 stroke lasts longer than a 2 stroke. Well duh! That has been the case in ALL powersports since OEM's offered a choice of engines.

Turbo the Nytro was and probably is far from perfect. Those I rode all had a hesitation on accel that was huge if modified in any way. A PC helped but never got rid of it. My Viper has no hesitation at all. They improved that.

Mine sat at the restaurant for 30-45 mins wouldn't start for a few mins cranks and cranks and nothing... Then got to start and got gas and no start again!! Really really sucks!! :drink: :drink: :drink: :drink: :drink:

No issues here with a hot start or warm start, just waited for the fuel pump to cycle then turned the key and she fired right up

Same here. Starts great. Is frustrating since some have issues. Maybe the throttle bodies are out of sync? Worth checking since it's only thing adjustable.

Mine seem to do it when I turned the key on and waited to let the fuel pump cycle until my dash completely came on.
One of the guys here recommended start the sled right after you see the Yamaha Genisys come on the dash.

So far it has been starting good.

However. When I had the hard start problems last week it was 7 deg out. It was 30 deg yesterday and started fine.

Im confused why were riding stopping shutting machine off.Riding stopping shutting machine off!!?? You dudes ride a mile at a time ?? lol!! If ur stopping to pee or something leave it run. Not like its going to overheat. Ive been letting it idle for 20 seconds or so before i shut down. Not sure if that is helping. Thought the old adage was if fuel injected dont touch the throttle?? Was real warm here riding yesterday and stopped for gas and fired right up. Was also riding with a couple guys that were the ride a few miles and stop. Again no issues starting. Is this happening with higher mileages?? I only have 350 on it

We stop about every twenty miles for a breather :) and if I let it run for more than a minute my temp jumps up over 210. Won't come down until I get a ways down the trail. Normally runs about 165 so don't like to see it that high

What a joke. Why cant yamaha get their crap together. Ive been on yamis for 18 years. On an apex se now. Looking to sell it and find something lighter more agile more fun. Want to stick with yami and like the idea of the viper but wtf? Seriously thinkin about a doo 1200 if yami cant get it together.
