How many have bought the Hurricane alignment tool ,and used it .?

Thats near exactly what I did....I machined off abit more then needed and had custom shims made, as I want the ability to move it either way. Think I ended up right about 59mm when measured the YAM method.

Just gotta remember to not get too close, as things could rub at full shift....Mocked mine up and its good at 59mm but each sled is diff. Mine once machined(approx 4mm) basically is flush when mocked up at full shift(hub flush with rear sheave)

I have 1 mm washer in my parts box so I can shift it around too It's a good idea to still be able to adjust things

I think I ended up using my custom 1.5mm shim with my setup, and got 59mm. I had a 2mm,1.5mm made up...and the stock 1mm also, so if needed I can tweak. Interested to get more miles on this offset this season, hoping for belt life increase with the bigger tunes.

3600 Kms running the 270r tune last season. Clutching works great as long as your clutch offset/allignment is good. Either buy the hurricane alignment tool or borrow one. I had to machine 2.5mm from the back of my secondary.

What is the dimension/thickness of the go-no go gauge where you insert it on the primary?

Hey Dave...

Have you seen premature roller wear in the primary when tuned up to 270? Mine looked all beat up within a few rides of running more HP. I have since changed my weights to Daltons(removed the 60YS) and also went down to lesser backpressure in secondary by changing to the dalton secondary spring. I also replaced rollers with the ones Lonn sells(Thunder Products) and they seem to be holding up better. I know Knapp has shown rollers to wear out quickly too.

Im not sure if it was just poor setup that made my rollers look all beat up or not.

Any evidence that a larger 15+mm roller would help with things like wear and maybe ease belt life?

thanks
Dan

Dan,I;m using Dalton stuff with 14.5 mm rollers with no roller issues .Load it ,Make it eat ,then rev 9050 max up top .I tried the TP stuff ,the Dalton raps are much easier to dial in,and seem consistent .If you need to grind the tips to get the 200 rpm back up top ,get grinding Grind like a mod tip ramp .Lowest engagement you can get works best so you don't need to sling a lot of extra weight on the track .

Moving the bottom of the rear sissor forward 3/4" -1"also helps the 137 i have transfer and go much better .

I had to remove 3 mm from my secondary to get proper clutch alignment with Hurricane's tool.
No wonder why my sled blew belts every three hundred miles when stock....
