If nothing is bent bad just bend it back since its just going to happen again. Every time I load my sled one ski is in front of the other.

How much is it going to cost for the dealer to do it if its the subframe? I expect somewhere from 2-3k but what do you guys think?

Find some used parts, it will be about 1/4 of 2-3K.

A big pry bar between the a arms out by the spindles. Another option would be bend it back and have grizz tracks plates welded in. So you end up with a stronger sub frame for less money.

I wouldn't pay the dealer to do a job like this.

Bend the subframe back, then take it all apart, weld some supports in there, align your skis, and you'll be done. Probably only cost you several hours and a couple hundred bucks total. And with the supports in there you might not bend it again.

I have no idea on how to pull the motor out,If I knew how to do it I would tae as long as it would take. Id love to work on my own sled but I am just learning some things now. Be great if I had someone who knew how id love to help them but I know no one who would pull it apart and actually know what exactly they are doing

There is no need to pull the motor out to fix the subframe.it all unbolts very easily.5-8 houra and you can have it fixed. I changed one on a Phazer comlpete in 3 hours. Almost the same thing. Oh as is for insurance goes I wrecked my sled one year in December but didnt claim it untill March. They didnt have a problem with it. As long as you had Insurance on it the entire time with rthe same company it is not fraud. Shane

I'll say it again, chain machine to tree at rear and yank spindle with wheeler or tractor, works every time. your only going to pound the $hit out of it anyway, save 3g

Just take all the plastic off the sled, and have a good look at the sub frame that the a-arms are bolted too. If you take your time and actually look it over...its actually not too complicated.

No need to take the motor out. You'll never learn to work on your sled if you don't do it. Take some pictures the first time, and take notes so you remember how it goes back together. And stay sober :drink:

X2 people may complain about Yamaha sub frames but they are nice to work on, no need to pull the engine or anything like that. pull your plastic 12 bolts hold your sub frame on, a few for your steering and a little electrical to remove. There are plenty of guys here to help ya through it. But dont worry about having to remove the engine or anything major like that. The only adjustments you need to make when you put it back together is your toe in toe out on your ski's and thats easy.

Ha ha you posted this while I was writing mine, didnt mean to say the same thing over

Yea,But to go in blind and not have anyone to help me with the sled it self it would be tuff. When you take a shock off in the front its not under pressure correct?

Nope it is fully extended when the a arm is down. it will stay that length when its removed

Giving advice like this is ridiculous. If you bend things don't just hook it at both ends and yank. The rear bumper and tunnel are not very strong so you'll probably end up with more bent parts. If your shocks are offset in the a-arms then it is possible to bend the subframe back into place with a pry bar but it's still important to thoroughly check all the steering parts and frame for damage and wear. These things are dangerous and need to be checked over periodically throughout the season and especially after an impact.
