Keep an eye on your chain tensioner idler bolt!

Just finished servicing 2017 Winder with about 5500kms, decided to open up chaincase and inspect parts.
Outer bolt was loose almost 2 turns, inside bolt was almost all the way out, the only thing stopping it from falling out was rubbing against chaincase.
Top bushing had enough wear that it was getting sloppy, so I changed it.

Any evidence of loctite? That sounds exactly like mine, no sign of loctite. A friend's sleds were both tight and both loctited.

Bringing this back to the front for the guys with new Winders. Just opened a chain case with 1700 miles on it and the machine screw on the back side of the tensioner was backed out about 3/8 of an inch. I don't know how it wasn't rubbing on the back of the case.

Open the case up and get these welded guys and gals

Opened mine up this weekend...It was time...once again...*Face Palm*
Both sides loose...one side stopped by the chain (Luckily the chain on my '18 sled had streched so much the idler was lined up with the "stupid" reverse chain) ...the other by the case... wonder how long that would have held up.
I have a brand new one I'm gonna weld and I'm gonna weld this one too. Worked great on my 2017.

The front bolt had red loctite and was tough the whole way out while I can't find a bit of red on the loose rear bolt.

Picking mine up tomorrow from my nephew who is welding mine as we speak. It was not loose, but fixing it while the chain case is open.

I’ve had good luck just cleaning the bolts and holes really good with solvent then reassemble with red locktite. Did this when it was new been checking every year and it’s still holding fine
